and this sometimes (?) returns null in returnedValue https://github.com/highfidelity/hifi/blob/592a50356bf598a4ca49d45c0c30525477831c6d/libraries/ui/src/VrMenu.cpp#L172-L174 and then segfaults down the line
but invokeResult is false and with just
if (!invokeResult) { return; }
interface works

clicking in developer - audio - audio scope - show scope runs into a shader that doesn't compile and then interface segfaults: https://gist.github.com/ChristophHaag/16a3e6be6331d391d3ca3055c5c381d0

tried to build the latest release with -DGLEW_EXTERNAL_PROJECT=0 and building like that doesn't work. so many issues...

I can hear my microphone sound with "echo local audio" but nothing else - no notification sounds etc. I think I saw some other avatars talking, but I have no idea since I hear no sound at all other than the local echo.
There's also too many fonts missing to do a lot of things, e.g. the "open and run script file" dialog is completely unusable: https://i.imgur.com/vF5hygP.png
And then it segfaults pretty much every time when quitting
I'd still like to see hifi become a thing, but without someone spending some significant amount of work ironing out the issues on modern linux distributions it's not very usable yet
