does hifi not have a developer who uses an amd gpu on linux? since nobody seems to care about highfidelity/hifi#11253 ...

@Menithal

Nope they been heavily focused on HMD / VR which is not that well support on Linux yet.

hifi works actually very well with openvr on linux, only this graphical issue is a bit irritating in VR :)

@ChristophHaag taking a look now, question, are you able to see the log files?
Christoph Haag

Sep 11 2017 20:45
yes
oh 23:54:54 [WARNINGS] Plug-in Result: Failed - <a href="warningsResult">22 warnings</a> exceed the threshold of 0 by 22 that's the error?
MiladNazeri
@MiladNazeri
Sep 11 2017 20:47
I actually had a similar error where I was receiving a 3 warnings about a variable being casted to a float but expecting a double
and it wouldn't let me build until that was changed
MiladNazeri
@MiladNazeri
Sep 11 2017 21:07
Yeah if there are any warnings it will build, but it will fail
And it looks like openvr is giving it problems as well
From the windows build -
(ClCompile target) ->
c:\jenkins\workspace\pr-build\label\windows\plugins\openvr\src\openvrhelpers.cpp(465): error C4716: 'CheckMinSpec': must return a value [C:\jenkins\workspace\pr-build\label\windows\build\plugins\openvr\openvr.vcxproj]
0 Warning(s)
1 Error(s)

From the mac -

seems like openvrhelpers is also causing failure on Mac

@samcake Does the fade-in effect on entity creation slow things down ? I've been playing with creating large numbers of cubes and the process takes an age. 262144 cubes took several minutes to create.
