    Hey, guys; good morning. I'm failing at creating a virtual NAT network: http://superuser.com/questions/1063240/libvirt-failed-to-initialize-a-valid-firewall-backend Any idea concerning that? Thanks.

    @mbroadst https://github.com/hooklift/node-libvirt/pull/77/files - lots of code removed :)

    @mbroadst
    /all @Rush and I have been discussing breaking API changes for the v2 release, including removing the current promise api (wrapping all methods in Async variants) in favor of one of two options:
    • promisifying such that all methods can either take a nodeback and support the existing async behavior on normal methods (e.g. Hypervisor.connect), and returning a Promise if no callback is specified
    • going with a completely Promise-based API, and dropping support for the old callback form - optionally warning users if they are passing a callback and expecting that to work
    it would be great to hear if any of you have opinions on the issue

    @Dravigon hey!

    dudes does anyone know how to isolate each users vm from others so that one user's vm is not accesible by others
    Dravid
    @Dravigon
    I have 2 users and each user created 2 vm each but all 4vms are available for both the users i need to restrict that
    Matt Broadstone
    @mbroadst
    @Dravigon we work on libvirt bindings for node.js, sounds like you should check out the libvirt irc channels/mailing lists: http://libvirt.org/contact.html
    Dravid
    @Dravigon
    can u do that using node.js binding??
    Matt Broadstone
    @mbroadst
    Hey if anybody is interested I made a POC about a month ago using libvirt's internal XDG structures to create a version of libvirt that does not depend on a C++ addon: https://github.com/mbroadst/node-libvirt2
    all the commands work, the codebase is entirely generated from source definitions at this point
    there is documentation generated for method params (but no actual description of the methods :) )
    and at this point its just lacking some of the basics, like connection string parsing, ssl, etc etc
    unfortunately I'm no longer working where I was using node-libvirt, so for at least now it seems I won't be continuing the work
    I'd love to walk anybody through it if they find value in the project

    @mbroadst node-libvirt2 looks great! I'm sad to hear you won't be working on node-libvirt any more :/
    Matt Broadstone
    @mbroadst
    @c4milo alas life takes me elsewhere :)
    looks like nobody is really using the module anyway
    130 downloads in the last month apparently
    and I believe that Rush and his company were just acquired by another company, and most likely don't need the module anymore
    though that's pure speculation

    @mbroadst that looks amazing. Indeed I have no use for node-libvirt now .. in fact the acq deal didn't quite go that well and now I'm a Lead Dev at Tenfold in Austin.
    @mbroadst @c4milo You wouldn't know any Senior Node Developers looking for new opportunities, would you? At Tenfold we are growing really quickly and it's still good time to jump on the growth wagon. :) We're looking either at remote or on-site work in Austin.

    @c4milo @mbroadst Hey guys, I'm working with libvirt to create an official (generated) nodejs binding. I was wondering if I could pick your one (or both) of your brains for 30 mins sometime, thanks
    ps: amazing work with node-libvirt

    @RamyElkest took me some time to notice the question.
    @RamyElkest if you want I can give you a rundown of some stuff
