@yojiyojiyoji
It is working in my computer...
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
I mean, when I select it in the lower box, then it does not move it up into the left bigger box
let me do a quick screencast
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
Thanks. Sometimes, GUI is different from other platform... I saw some difference between Windows and Linux, even though same python is used...
Another improvement is that multithread function of uploading is enhanced. Now, we can cancel each thread separately. Please try it.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
Oh wait, so the left box is only for TOC loaded layers
and the bottom for selected files from file system
we may have do do some tweaks to the GUI there to make it more obvious
otherwise it looks like one could only add/remove files from the left (bigger) box
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
So I will add it to issue.
I quickly added #85. I will write more details later.
Maybe, we will get more users later, get feedback from them.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
OK. I’m trying the upload workflow, 1 sec
The metadata editor does not seem to work for individual files
I mean, if I edit the metadata for one file, then it gets applied to the others as well
also, when selecting individual files on the left, you need to select/deselect manually instead of selecting one and the others get deselected
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
You mean save metadata button?
Actually I suggested disabling multi-selection, but was told that we should be able to do multi-selection. This is the reason, I did not change. So, should we disable multiple selection?
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
No, multi selection is fine, but it doesn’t seem to work now
I mean, when you get to thay window, you should be able to select one or more files and apply the same metadata for example
Jul-15-2016 14-16-35.gif
but if you only select one it should not apply to all the other files
and viceversa
In the gif above I’m just showing that the selection/deselection seems sticky
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
Let me check it.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
I mean, it requires to deselect the other file manually
if you have both selected, then you click on the second one - for example - the first one should automatically deselect
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
so, two selected items should be deselected by one click. Is this what you say?
What I thought strange is that we normally use shift-key to do multiple selection, but in this GUI, it isn't. I guess this is the reason why this GUI seems strange, or kind of primitive.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
yes, let’s say there are 10 files and are all selected - if you were to click on one of the only that one would stay selected and all the others would be deselected
anyway, the more important thing is that the metadata info on the right should be linked to the files on the left, which is not at the moment
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
I think, in this interface, we have to click ten times.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
Right
The uploader otherwise works fine
I did the workflow through the end
I like the splitting of uploads
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
Thanks. Just go back to metadata... If we select more than one file on the left, which one should we display on the right?
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
The are a few UI improvements that could be done, but the functions are there ;)
That’s a good question. But I think if the files have the same metadata, then it doesn’t matter. If they have different metadata, then there should be a warning saying to select only one or something
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
So, I will create a new issue.
Anyway, I will work on the reprojection, and file conversion.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
I would say reprojection is probably the most needed
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
It may be better to use multithread again, since sometimes reprojection requires a lot of time.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
file conversion may not be if we implement multi format support with the version of OAM
Yes, would be great to use multi-threading
As part of PacDID we are thinking of adding support for other file types (JPG, J2K, etc)
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
I see. So, we should not force to convert to tif.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
I would not for now
I also noticed that the settings are not reflected in the upload tool
I mean, if I save a provider default in the metadata, it does not show already pre-filled in the upload step
