@cgiovando
I mean, it requires to deselect the other file manually
if you have both selected, then you click on the second one - for example - the first one should automatically deselect
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
so, two selected items should be deselected by one click. Is this what you say?
What I thought strange is that we normally use shift-key to do multiple selection, but in this GUI, it isn't. I guess this is the reason why this GUI seems strange, or kind of primitive.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
yes, let’s say there are 10 files and are all selected - if you were to click on one of the only that one would stay selected and all the others would be deselected
anyway, the more important thing is that the metadata info on the right should be linked to the files on the left, which is not at the moment
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
I think, in this interface, we have to click ten times.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
Right
The uploader otherwise works fine
I did the workflow through the end
I like the splitting of uploads
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
Thanks. Just go back to metadata... If we select more than one file on the left, which one should we display on the right?
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
The are a few UI improvements that could be done, but the functions are there ;)
That’s a good question. But I think if the files have the same metadata, then it doesn’t matter. If they have different metadata, then there should be a warning saying to select only one or something
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
So, I will create a new issue.
Anyway, I will work on the reprojection, and file conversion.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
I would say reprojection is probably the most needed
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
It may be better to use multithread again, since sometimes reprojection requires a lot of time.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
file conversion may not be if we implement multi format support with the version of OAM
Yes, would be great to use multi-threading
As part of PacDID we are thinking of adding support for other file types (JPG, J2K, etc)
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
I see. So, we should not force to convert to tif.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
I would not for now
I also noticed that the settings are not reflected in the upload tool
I mean, if I save a provider default in the metadata, it does not show already pre-filled in the upload step
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
Let me see in my computer.
It doesn't work?
It seems to work in my computer.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
No, but it may be something withmy setup :worried:
Anyway, the search tool looks like in the right direction
;)
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
It may be better to remove setting file and create a new one.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
would be great to move the overview pane into the same windows if not much trouble
And obviously to have a map would be awesome ;)
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
You mean move it to send page of wizard?
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
No, I mean for the search tool
to have image overviews appear in the same window as the search
right now it opens a separate window
I gotta run in 5 minutes. We are going to post an update on PacDID next week on the HOT blog
and hold the kickoff meeting Aug 1-5 in Fiji
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
You think it is OK, if the search window becomes large?
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
after that we should have a clearer idea of the priorities for development of the qgis plugin
yeah, I think it’s OK
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
If we add more search criteria, I could be so large. You think it's OK?
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
I mean, ideally there should be in one single window, search, filters, and map with overviews
yeah, we’d just have to play around to optimize space
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
So, I will try it.
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
;)
yojiyojiyoji
@yojiyojiyoji
So you go to Fiji?
Cristiano Giovando
@cgiovando
Thank you so much @yojiyojiyoji
