move focus left/right/up/down?

Loving this superb tool!!!

But found it counter intuitive to move focus around. Currently I can only move clockwise or counter clockwise by mod1+j/k. I found it's not intuitive especially I have many windows on the screen.

I'm moving from i3wm, in which I can simply mod + hjkl to move focus left/down/up/right. Is there anyway I can do similar in Amethyst?

oh, actually I saw an existing TODO for this feature: https://trello.com/c/1u8Eh7hT/246-amethyst-directional-focus

Forgive me if this is a problem between the chair and the keyboard, but I'm trying to work out how to support a dedicated Emacs minibuffer frame together with Amethyst. My configuration is, uh, simple right now: I have the "fullscreen" layout enabled. (Also, "floating" for convenience if something gets odd, never used)
Emacs is currently one full screen window per frame, which is what I want, except... I'd like to put the minibuffer at the top of the screen, and the only mechanism to achieve that seems to be using a separate window containing only the minibuffer. Which means I'd like the layout to be: one window at the top, full width and window driven height, then the rest of the space being filled with any other Emacs window. (I can set title, etc, to make it possible to identify which window gets the special treatment.)
I'm just ... not able to figure out how to (a) make that happen for Emacs, and especially also (b) make it not happen with all the other apps I'm running.
I'm sure something in that description is confusing, so please ask and I'll try and explain better. :)

@ianyh
@slippycheeze I think what you want is the wide layout. Each space has its own set of layouts so using wide on one won't affect the others.

Stupid question, which fingers are using to press the keyboard combinations? I'm using my pinky to press ctrl, ring finger for shift, and thumb for option, but it kinda feels awkward. Thanks!
Ian Ynda-Hummel
@ianyh
For mod1 I use my pinky on left shift and my thumb on option. For mod2 I actually use ring finger on shift, pinky on ctrl, and thumb on option.
mod1 is pretty comfortable for me, but mod2 is pretty awkward. I don't use mod2 particularly often, though, so it hasn't been an issue for me.

Is there a trick to no have to readd the bundle to the Accessibility premission list every time I recompile it?
Ian Ynda-Hummel
@ianyh
Not that I've discovered yet, unfortunately.
It's a tremendous pain in the ass.
Rob Blanckaert
@basicer
I got it to stop by creating a locally trusted signing cert and signing it with that.
Ian Ynda-Hummel
@ianyh
Oh, clever.
I'll give that a try.

Hey do Amethyst is working with multiple monitors on 10.14.6 (18G95)? Cuz changing the focus working only on one display and do not move focus to another screen
Ian Ynda-Hummel
@ianyh
What command are you using for changing focus?
Rob Blanckaert
@basicer
I pulled the refactored window management stuff from git, and it feels really buggy. Cycling windows sometimes takes me to other spaces , and floating.sinking windows sometimes doesn't cause reevaluation.
Is this a thing you are working on, or is it a me problem ?
Ian Ynda-Hummel
@ianyh
Working on it.
I was, uh, a bit overzealous.
Rob Blanckaert
@basicer
Love the refactor though, even though it broke a ton of my patches.

hey does anybody use keybase with amethyst? did you stop being able to tile it recently? It has always started untiled and I had to manually tile it, but now it just doesn't seem to tile at all (my work neighbor has the same problem)... happy to gather debug info etc.
Ian Ynda-Hummel
@ianyh
I don't personally use the keybase desktop app, though I have an account and could check at some point.
Brandon Dimcheff
@bdimcheff_twitter
cool, happy to help however I can
keybase has always behaved a little screwy and has a nonstandard ui, so I'm gonna guess they're doing something weird with how they're creating the window
