Well, I started shaping controllers last week at my work. I use shapeit for that, maybe you have heard of it?

I find the tool very convenient because you can really concentrating on shaping instead of modifying a single parameter and running F5 again to create a lot of plots.

That's actually something I'd like to combine with HIFOO
I've contacted HIFOO authors but they didn't like the license. So I need to do all from scratch.

It can solve structured control design problems fairly good. Matlab has its own systune and so on which comparable to it.

The problem I am having is that my plant is not very consistent. At various operating points it differs. So I am trying to build a controller while satisfying the stability criteria for all plants.
At ASML we had a tunetool just like shapeit which could handle multiple plants. So then this is easy.

They are not approximating the behavior of the system but pole/zero locations. Especially for MIMO systems, it can introduce trouble with interactions.

Speaking of which now I realized that I never wrote MIMO tests for the discretization stuff. I should do that too.
