Hey everyone,
I wanted to ask your opinion about a project of mine where we are trying to use the best OOP practices, especially when it comes to interfaces and encapsulation.
Specifically, the most interesting pattern/methdology we've used is Polymorphism. Here is an example: https://github.com/amihaiemil/docker-java-api/blob/master/src/main/java/com/amihaiemil/docker/RtContainer.java
What do you think? It's an implementation of a Docker Container which represents the Container API for Docker and at the same time it implements javax.json.JsonObject (JSON-P specification) and holds the Container's JSON representation as it was at the moment of the object's creation.

Can someone please give me any real time scenario or situation where facade design pattern can be used or it's just a best practice to choose.

@jrxxjr
@npathai, @iluwatar, i post the message, in the area of pull requests from GitHub, in the request number #825. Please, i need your opinion, if it is good, my explanation about the builder form with i implemented for this pattern, conform your orientation ?

@jrxxjr
@iluwatar, or any other user, please i need your help, i want commit my code, of the other form of the builder pattern in the GitHub, but the user @npathai, he is not reading my posts, and giving his final opinion, if was good to my explanation about what makes my coding the pattern builder that i did, could help me, it was good to my explanation so i could climb my code to GitHub.
The request number is #825, it is in the pull requests area from GitHub for the project .
My commit was removed by user @npathai, or the his request, because he informed with do not have a explanation of the other form of the builder pattern with i make.
Or i do commit of code, even so, that this explanation that is there already attend the request ?

Hi All. I have more than 10 years experience with Oracle and I decided to start with Java. Github is also something new for me. I decided to join patterns project. Any introduction help is highly appreciated. Thanks.

Hi all
in the design pattern DAO, you declared the interface methods to throw Exception meanwhile you are throwing customException. So DAO consumer sees only that a method thows an exception but does not know what to expect. Are there some reasons behind it ?

Hi @CREPSE
Good point, there may be room for improvement. Didn't look at the code but sounds like the Exception could be a more specialized one. Maybe create a pull request about this?

I want to update state of a job that goes through multiple stages, through multiple classes and stuff, for ex: reading from DB, processing it, writing to a resource.. am talking about reading millions of items and processing... typically it takes many hours.. Once job is submitted I want to track status such as , how many items are read, processed, written to a resource etc including time elapsed etc..
Am looking for a design-pattern to implement it and open to suggesttions.

@ashokrenukappa u can do this by reading log patterns.
Write data u want to logs, then when streaming logs get updates via string patterns in ur logs

@iluwatar Your repo is amazing. Can i have a question ? Why some design pattern such as EIP Splitter wasn't implemented by java core but use apache camel instead ? @@
Ilkka Seppälä
@iluwatar
@leuducanh we reasoned that when implementing EIPs we will end up developing our own framework. So we chose to use Camel instead since it has most the EIPs implemented there out of the box and usable with couple of lines of code.
