Benjamin Cordes
@benjyz

say we have native token and green coins are issued. in account based system it looks like

old

Account Alice:
native token 100

new
Account Alice:
native token 100
greencoins 22

the stuff one account owns is just a vector, and adding one line item is trivial
what do you mean by multistate-objects? I'm kind of thinking about the structure which defines the control
Benjamin Cordes
@benjyz
the current models are much like a safe: if you can prove you can open the safe with digital signature, then you're allowed to take out everything out of the safe. it does not matter what is in the safe
in terms of assets, the safe could contain anything. consider now the right to issue coins. that's more like the right to build new safes
and the right/obligation to verify tx is a different kind of right
Alexander Chepurnoy
@kushti
@benjyz you probably mean there's no persistent state between utxos ?
e.g. as was explained By A. Miller in https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cGFOKTm_8zk
see the lottery example
Benjamin Cordes
@benjyz
@kushti assuming one wants to go with UTXO style method. the approach is pretty fragile, and the complexity drowns everything. so even to do a simple tx, one needs reference point to previous output
one can't say: transfer 15 coins from A to B, one needs to say: take 15 coins from that particular previous output and transfer it to this new output.

Scorex 2.0 pre-announce just published in the maillist: https://scorex-dev.groups.io/g/main/message/7?p=Created,0,,20,1,4,6413923&offset=6
Anton Kulaga
@antonkulaga
I am curious can switching to Scala.native make Scorex much faster?
Alexander Chepurnoy
@kushti
@antonkulaga it depends. The biggest performance boost could be from efficient hardware-optimized primitives (hash functions/signatures) implementations. In most cases, random disk I/O outweighs all other factors and this is language-agnostic factor mostly.
Matthew Pocock
@drdozer
HI :)
Stumbled over this looking for a good hash function in scala
Matthew Pocock
@drdozer
is there a reason that the hashes themselves are implemented in Java?
Matthew Kindy II
@mpk2
Is this gitter dead? I see Scorex 2.0 under development
Matthew Pocock
@drdozer
I've not seen any activity :( It's a shame as we are inerested in cyphers and blockchain
Jan Kotek
@jankotek
We discussed Scala native, but it is not yet stable enough
Alexander Chepurnoy
@kushti
Haven't got notifications over email before the last message :(
the project is under development for sure :)
Alexander Chepurnoy
@kushti
mail-list announce of upcoming 2.0-RC1 release will be soon!
Matthew Kindy II
@mpk2
The mailing list looked defunct last I checked, but if you're going to be sending announcements out, how do we get added to it?
Matthew Kindy II
@mpk2
Looking at the various children of MessageSpec -- what is the rationale behind the selection of MessageCode?
Alexander Chepurnoy
@kushti
@mpk2 you mean to include it into a spec? Well, you need to recover a type from bytes got from wire

@innovia-team
Hello to all!
I like your project! I'm going to try to understand the code... I'm C# and Mobile dev...
Joesan
@joesan
Is this project still alive?
I've been doing lots of Scala over the last couple of years and I thought I might contribute to the project...
Is there something tangible happening P
Bruno
@ceilican
Yes. The project is still alive, but this gitter channel is not very active.
joroy
@joroy
Hi. I'd like to know if there are instructions about how to perform a transaction through wallet/transfer?
Bruno
@ceilican
@joroy , thanks for your question. It is a question that I had some time ago too, when I started contributing to Scorex. I created an issue in Scorex's issue tracker (ScorexFoundation/Scorex#135). You can monitor our progress there.
Everyone, this channel is only sporadically monitored. I recommend asking questions through Scorex's issue tracker (https://github.com/ScorexFoundation/Scorex/issues/).

Hello @pmkyl

WE ALIVE?
:)
Where can I find a more active Scorex chat ?
Ezequiel Postan
@EzequielPostan
Hello @samgos , I am not aware of another chat. We tend to have discussion related to the code using Github issues threads. Some of us tend to review this chat frequently.
Feel free to ask any questions or propose any topic of conversation. I am sure you will be welcomed :)
Samuel JJ Gosling
@samgos
Nice @EzequielPostan i'll be doing my best to communicate here and reignite this project :)
For now i'm going to be experimenting with Scorex , I have no experience but I am a swift learner. Looking to create a coin and evm infrastructue as an end goal, so will probably need some direction here and there.
Ezequiel Postan
@EzequielPostan
Good, a nice complementary talk related to Scorex design is this one: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=m-yGbvsDjkA
feel free to raise any question. I am not the best to respond but will do my best to help
Vivek Kumar Bagaria
@bagavi
Hi. Scorex is an amazing tool for quickly testing and prototyping one's consensus protocols. I luckily came across it after a lot of searching. However, I have no experience in Scala and before diving into Scorex I wanted to ask the community here if there are similar softwares written in C++, Java ? thanks :)
Sebastien Guillemot
@SebastienGllmt
@bagavi check out Mantis in Scala. I think it was inspired by ScoreX but it was made for ETC so it's not as general

Hello
Please is there anyone here who could give some help with Base58 object?
