i did all that steps in your link above. but how do i check to see if there any data flow in my APM elastic server and elasticsearch ? because i cant see data in my kibana. is there any syntax or way to check it? thx for your kindness @ivansenic .

@mariusoe
Hi @andre_juharto_twitter , check the APM server's log output. There should be a message in a regular interval when data is incoming..
and can you check if there is a logout in the inspectIT agents log which states the following: |- Using following Elastic APM Server: {}

i found out there's utility info such CPU, and memory on my CMR server (im using inspectiT gui) but i tried to using my java apps (mobile apps running on tomcat) and there's no transaction captured on my CMR. can anyone help me or get same issues?
Ivan Senic
@ivansenic
if you are using the elastic agent hack, all transactions are sent to the elastic APM server and not the inspectIT CMR
maybe you can try to use the inspectIT official release that has no elastic APM server dependency
at least you would be able what's inspectIT capable of
and later in you can deal with problems regarding the ELK stack

Hi Team ,
I wanted to check whether inspectIT will be able to monitor the linux server perfomance and can send alert mails to the respective team whenever the system is down or degrading. Also I wanted to ask about the configuration steps involved after installation . As of now I have CMR running and the InspectIT application installed in my local system.

How to work with multiple java agents ?For eg , I have put two java agents- one is inspectIT java agent and other one is intershop java agent:
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -javaagent:%INSPECTIT_AGENT_HOME%\inspectit-agent.jar -Dinspectit.repository=localhost:9070 -Dinspectit.agent.name=ISH
set JAVA_OPTS=%JAVA_OPTS% -javaagent:%IS_HOME%/lib/ish-runtime.jar
But I am getting classcast exception:
proxied.rocks.inspectit.agent.java.eum.instrumentation.TagInjectionResponseWrapper$inspectIT_proxy cannot be cast to com.intershop.beehive.core.capi.request.ServletResponse
Ivan Senic
@ivansenic
it can be that two agents are not compatible with each other, depends what each is doing to your environment
seams that the intershop one does not work with the http response wrappers, but tries to cast our wrapper to their ServletResponse class
which would fail of course

@ivansenic I think I had done some misconfiguration in profiles. After a clean installation, it worked smoothly.

Hi everyone. Is CMR scalable? Can I run it on multiple servers for better performance and fault tolerance? I didn't find this information in documentation.

Good evening. Is there a way to monitor the sql queries through the web-based UI of Grafana (like i am already doing with http, cpu, memory, etc). Right now they get monitored only through the InspectIT Analysis UI.
Ivan Senic
@ivansenic
@roman8422 @47181770 In simple words, no CMR is not scalable, it's a classic monolith app. The reason for this is that when we started working on inspectIT our initial intention was not that the product is used in production, but only on pre-prod, int, dev stages. This is why security and scalability were never taken care of. However, we hear a lot of people wants to use inspectIT in the production and we are working hard on figuring out what's the best direction for inspectIT at the moment (read http://www.inspectit.rocks/public-announcement-inspectit-future-plans-and-road-map/).
@thanosntou you have information in the mail

I want to use the inspectIT in my production environment
mukul423
@mukul423
Our local environment is based on Vagrant...so Tomcat etc. runs inside Vagrant....if we run CMR & InspectIT UI outside vagrant, will it work fine? Meaning, are there are any known issues around Vagrant for InspectIT?
also, I keep getting this issue: inspectIT/inspectIT#240
below fix proposed here didn't work:
increase the heap space available for the CMR process by altering the startup script and setting following parameters: -Xms6g -Xmx6g -Xmn1536m
mukul423
@mukul423
@ivansenic would you please reply on above query regarding Vagrant?

@sillekyatha
@RajKumarBalaiya : Your command should be similar to something like this- java -javaagent:./inspectit-agent.jar "-Dinspectit.repository=localhost:9070" "-Dinspectit.agent.name=TestAgent" -jar C:\Test\Java2Demo.jar

@sillekyatha
@ivansenic Can you please point me to a valid document to configure 'Use Case Aggregation' (Http Sensor) with tags, aggregating requests based on Header value.
Ivan Senic
@ivansenic
@sillekyatha this feature is not available since we moved to the UI based configuration
unfortunately, there is no way to configure the agent correctly in order to collect needed information
sorry

hello, does inspectIT support the websphere 9?
Ivan Senic
@ivansenic
it should, but with IBM products is always a bit of struggle to make the things work
especially in the direction of class loading
should be easy to quickly check if you get any errors when starting if you inject the inspectIT agent

Hi, I should collect sql statements for a microservices that writes on a remote cassandra DB. Is there a guide to configure InspectIT in order to track sql statements. It seems that they are all masquerades.
Ivan Senic
@ivansenic
you need to instrument the Cassandra driver and add the context capturing that would collect the statements/queries
however, I am not aware what exactly a proper instrumentation point would be
from one of my older answers:
Let's take the Casandra java driver from DataStax as the example. If you use this driver you could easily instrument the Session class and monitor it's execute methods. You could in addition capture the query parameter and you would be able to see also what query it was. Sure if won't be nicely displayed and organized as for the SQL statements, but at least you could get some basic information.
