@amrt06 inspectIT has a default set of configuration rules, which are good for start, but since everybody have different applications, you will need to make custom configuration to get more details
regarding the port, the default port agent should connect to the CMR is 9070
so you would need -Dinspectit.repository=localhost:9070

@amrt06
Thanks Ivan Senic ..Its working now..
i have created run.sh file in jboos/bin directory and added below mentioned lines

set INSPECTIT_AGENT_HOME="D:\inspectIT\agent"
export INSPECTIT_AGENT_HOME

set INSPECTIT_JAVA_OPTS="-Xbootclasspath/p:D:\inspectIT\agent\inspectit-agent.jar -javaagent:D:\inspectIT\agent\inspectit-agent.jar -Dinspectit.repository=localhost:9070 -Dinspectit.agent.name=JBOSS"
export INSPECTIT_JAVA_OPTS

# integrate inspectit java options with the java options of JBoss

set JAVA_OPTS="${INSPECTIT_JAVA_OPTS}${JAVA_OPTS}"

@Johannes1509_gitlab

I want to use "InspectIT" (a free profiling tool) for my programs. I've tested InspectIT on "sqldeveloper" from Oracle - just to see if its works as it should. My problem: Everytime I recorded a Session the Data Explorer shows no results, only the System Overview is displayed. But I need to know how fast are the methods... Can anybody help me?

Thank you Johannes

@ivansenic
@Johannes1509_gitlab you have answer on the github
@amrt06 not sure how can I help.. You should read the 1.8 docs, others are really old.. You can configure everything in the Configuration Perspective of the inspectIT UI

Hi Folks,
Do you APM agent for .NET Runtime

@WassimDhib
Hi!

@WassimDhib
Can someone explain how does the "eum" module works (instrumentation/reflection) ?

@dharanikesav
Hi
can we create profile and configure environments of CMR
without using UI
??
lentus
@lentus
Hey everyone, I am having problems getting the InspectIT agent to work, it does not seem to register to the CMR
lentus
@lentus
I figured it out with help from Ivan, thanks again!
Ivan Senic
@ivansenic
@stevejobsmyguru we only have a first prototypes for the .NET, but nothing stable nor official
@WassimDhib eum works with the instrumentation, it does 2 type of interceptions:
1. any HTML page send back by your Java backend is intercepted and a small snippet is added to the <head> section, so that our JS agent is automatically added to any HTML page served
2. we also intercept calls that would send metrics from the JS side and pass them on to the CMR
@dharanikesav yes you can, they are XML files with a defined schema (schema is located at CMR/ci/schema) but you would still need CMR to load them and provide them to the agents

Today I was trying to view the confluence road map page, but its access is restricted. Would it be possible to make it publicly available?

Hi, I installed OSX Version 1.9.3 and followed below installation guide. I see, only SQL requests are captured. Call hierarchy does not show any Java methods. I've all profiles active. Am I missing something?
Marius Oehler
@mariusoe
Hi @I048752 , which version are you using and which guide did you used to install it? Can you maybe post a screenshot for better understanding of the problem?
One problem could be - if you just see SQL statistics - that you don't start an invocation sequence because methods and their call hierachy are only captured in the context of an invocation sequence.
kishore p
@I048752
@mariusoe Here are the details: InspectIT version 1.9.3.107
Invocation sequence: Only shows OraclePreparedStatement.executeQuery() methods. But does not show the callers (Please find attached screenshot)
Same with details screen

Can anyone help me where i can find the inpsectit-agent which supports openjdk11? the one which is available with latest version1.9.3 is supporting onlt jdk8, but i need support for jdk11.
Stefan Siegl
@stefansiegl
Hi @hydkris_gitlab - I suppose you are referring to the "old" inspectIT. Please be advised that the development has shifted towards inspectIT ocelot and inspectIT (as in: the full fledged all-in-one solution) will not be developed further. Have a look at https://inspectit.rocks/ and https://openapm.io/. You will see how the "new" inspectIT will fit in nicely with all the other open source tools
Krishna K
@hydkris_gitlab
@stefansiegl you're right, I am referring to old inspectIT and not aware that there is new one as well. I will start exploring the new links you provided. But, I can run ocelet-agent with openjdk11? thanks.

@iamgigahex_gitlab
Hi, can i use the same InspectIT-1.9.3 app for the ocelot java agent ? Or do i have to setup anything else ?
Vijayakumar Udupa
Hi, earlier inspectIT used to provide method level CPU usage. Is there any way we can get it with inspectIT-ocelot ? We are using inspectIT-ocelot along with Prometheus
Stefan Siegl
@stefansiegl
Hi @vijayaudupa_twitter, the code for cpu level information is quite simple. You can have a look at the "old inspectIT" here: https://github.com/inspectIT/inspectIT/blob/master/inspectit.agent.java/src/main/java/rocks/inspectit/agent/java/sensor/method/timer/TimerHook.java - to my knowledge ocelot does not have this included right now. The idea is pretty simple: We just get the current cpu time from the ThreadMXBean (if this is available) https://docs.oracle.com/en/java/javase/11/docs/api/java.management/java/lang/management/ThreadMXBean.html#getCurrentThreadCpuTime()
So if you want you could create this quite easily for ocelot as well
Stefan Siegl
@stefansiegl
@iamgigahex_gitlab inspectIT and inspectIT Ocelot are two completely separate code bases. we decided to drop a lot of stuff with ocelot as there are now projects and tools that cover parts of the open source landscape very well. So we decided to stick with them and (basically) join forces and built on top of them. We also built openapm.io in order to show how these open source apm tools can work together
Vijayakumar Udupa
@stefansiegl thanks a lot. It works.
