Yo
Hey @Carreau, I was at sprint planning for work missed the decision meeting
If we're including the example notebooks in our tmpnb setup, I'm less worried about maintaining an examples container.
Hmmm
Actually, let's just go with it and I'll put up the image for #6420

I made a short page of widgets and widget experiments I've seen to keep track of some of the exciting work going on: https://github.com/ipython/ipython/wiki/Widgets
(I'll try to remember to post this to the dev list tonight when I get home)

I have a feeling that Google doesn't use G+ for chat internally - they have their own custom version
That's why the usability of G+ is so horrible

@SylvainCorlay when we had talked with @ellisonbg he was thinking about different names that would make the hold_sync and on_atomic_change similar, but I seem to remember we decided that they were actually different, so it didn't really matter if they were similarly named or not, right?
Just making sure that what I remember was right, that the final decision was indeed to use on_atomic_change
Sylvain Corlay
@SylvainCorlay
Sep 22 2014 19:14
I have not heard a decision from Brian. Jason and I though that atomic change and hold_sync were related but still could occur in different cases. atomic_change can be called on the creation of the widget for example.
Jonathan Frederic
@jdfreder
Sep 22 2014 19:15
Yeah, I remember that discussion
Maybe you weren't there for the "Needs discussion" meeting
but I'm pretty sure the decision was to move forward with atomic

@SylvainCorlay I think I found a typo, but other than that, looks good to me.
I left a comment in the code for you.

For the record, I'm fine with changing hold_sync to atomic_sync, maybe even slightly in favor of it.
(though hold_sync seems to be a simpler name, so I have a slight preference for it that maybe cancels out the other slight preference...)
eh, so maybe +0 on changing hold_sync to atomic_sync
