Do you have any idea how I could debug #7947? What I see is that for some reason absolute paths are ignored in kernel.json on my mac. The newly started kernel always belongs to the interpreter that owns the notebook server. If I start a python2 kernel, things are getting really weird: If I have a ipython2 binary in my PATH, this will be picked. If not I get those /Users/ch/miniconda/envs/sb34/bin/python: No module named IPythonerrors which make no sense at all: The interpreter path is the interpreter that started the notebook server, therefore does have ipython installed.
