@julianduque
hello @fivdi @jadonk
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
howdy julianduque
would be nice if I could bridge this to irc.freenode.net somehow, since so many #beagle people are there.
Julian Duque
@julianduque
not sure if possible
@jadonk added myself to the GSoC wiki, what do you think about my suggestion to modularize bonescript?
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
modularization would be good. also need some simulator-like support on general Linux hosts.
Julian Duque
@julianduque
have only a core library bonescript and other with autorun/systemd bonescript-autorun etc..
right now main library is too big (imho)
Kristijan Trajkovski
@FREEZX
Hi @jadonk ,
I'm going to apply for the nw.js project idea on GSoC, do you think it would be a good idea to also have a sort of a minimalistic javascript editor that can be used to write simple scripts by using bonescript and have a button to instantly run the script (this would be very similar to what arduino offers in terms of scripting).
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
howdy
ask in #beagle-gsoc on freenode.net
are you on IRC?
Kristijan Trajkovski
@FREEZX
yes
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
great!
Kristijan Trajkovski
@FREEZX
i said hi, nobody answered :)
see you there :)
Julian Duque
@julianduque
@jadonk can we schedule a call or something, I've been receiving some questions about the GSoC and want to touch base with you about the process
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
julianduque: we have a weekly meeting on the #beagle-gsoc IRC channel today in 2.5 hours.
Julian Duque
@julianduque
@jadonk dang... I missed it :/
will read logs
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
julianduque: thanks. your inputs on the mailing list regarding what a good node.js project would look like would be really appreciated.
Brian Cooke
@fivdi
@jadonk the current recommended image for the BeagleBone Black is Debian 7.8 with the 3.8 Linux kernel. Will the recommended image become Debian 8.1 with the 4.1 Linux kernel soon?
Brian Cooke
@fivdi
@jadonk the question reformulated slightly would be: will support for the 4.1 Linux Kernel be added to BoneScript soon?
Mike Humphrey
@mikehumphrey
Please post here the day or so before your next weekly meeting so I can join.
Aditya Patadia
@adityapatadia
If anyone is looking for a bonescript with 4.1 kernel support, it is here: https://github.com/theoctal/octalbonescript
I have forked and maintained it for last 1.5 years.
Hope you guys will love it...
Mike Humphrey
@mikehumphrey
Adit
@adityapatadia Does octabonescript have a gitter page?
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
Am I logged in here? IRC client keeps saying disconnected.
oh wait, that was from earlier. :-)

@psiphi75
@Jason I'm am keen to support the update of bonescript (re: our brief conversation here: https://github.com/jadonk/bonescript/pull/121#issuecomment-211206557). Is this a good place to discuss it? Since the channel looks like it
... since the channel looks like it's not that active.
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
hi all... pushing out version 0.5.0 of bonescript. anxious for feedback.
working on Debian packaging for it now.
in future, you'll be able to 'apt-get install bonescript' rather than 'npm install -g bonescript', for better or worse.
Salman Faris
@salmanfarisvp
Cool
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
0.6.1 pushed.

@AdamMagaluk
Anyone know what version of Node.js is shipped these days with BBB and other variations?
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
Jessie v6, Stretch v8, Buster v10
Aidan Andrews
@Aidan275
Hi @jadonk, I'm testing BoneScript on a BeagleBone Black and I'm just wondering what Debian image, kernel version, and Node.js version BoneScript is most compatible with at the moment?
Jason Kridner
@jadonk
latest. I think node.js is version 8. 4.14 kernel. Debian 9.3. bbb.io/latest.
Stretch === v8.
so, yes, Debian 9 (Stretch), kernel 4.14 and node.js 8.

Hi, is it possible to change the default 80 port for bonescript socket in some configuration file or during installation?
