    @2flea I have been getting issues with restart as well, only my pre-emptive restarts are failing entirely. Updated the app and hope that will fix it but wondering if it's something with an 81xxxx transmitter instead of 80xxxx transmitter

    Is it possible to set up temporary text message alerts for babysitters, coaches and temporary caregivers?

    @libxmike
    @roco5 I don't think so, what you mean exactly, what messages? xDrip does not send text messages or do you mean notifications ?
    roco5
    @roco5
    text messages from the collector would be ideal.
    coach for a soccer game, friends house, teacher, grandparents, etc.

    @jamorham A few days ago I sent you the logs of a case where xDrip did not raise an alarm for a low and even the logs did not contain any indication why the alarm was not raised. Did you maybe have a chance to look at them?

    @jamorham and other gurus I see an increasing number of xDrip+ sync followers losing signal from master whereas NS follower is still working... any idea what to troubleshoot? Only Google Play Service?
    Also I have a tough case of an xDrip+ connected to miaomiao but no data flowing in (like only 20 minutes then nothing) log only reports
    Dexcollection service received a buffer
    Bluetooth device reports connected
    I can't see sensor not found errors...
    Patrick Sonnerat
    @psonnera
    (And gitter loses pieces) dexcollection service retries because 0 byte were received

    @roco5 I think xdrip cannot send custom messages out of the box. But you could set up a Nightscout site and use IFTTT (if this then that):

    Regarding the issue I was talking about above, a better overview here https://drive.google.com/folderview?id=1-J623UKILvXKGHaKxczVPgDetOP1KSW8
    Any ideas welcome.

    @libxmike @DerArno @jamorham Would IFTTT still work for this? Looks like they changed their site quite a bit. Is there a recipe you recommend? Or an easier way. I found this tutorial from 2017, but not sure it will do what I want: https://openaps.readthedocs.io/en/latest/docs/Customize-Iterate/ifttt-integration.html
    Just looking to get a text message sent to a babysitter or caregiver when some threshold number is reached.
    @jamorham Another interesting option would be a program that sets a multicolor LED light in the home, to a certain color based where a bg reading is in the defined range.

    Ever since the august android security update I'm losing signal multiple times a day and have to restart collector or reboot phone. Anyone else?
    JamOrHam
    @jamorham
    @roco5 when i set up colored lights for this i made a simple python web service to receive data as if it were a night scout instance. There is also Tasker integration but that probably isn't as easy as it should be for this.
    roco5
    @roco5
    that sounds like what I was thinking. do you have a project site for it? or is there a better way now?
    @jamorham
    DerArno
    @DerArno
    @roco5 I don't know tbh. I just read about IFTTT in the tutorials when I set up my Nightscout site and it sounded exactly like what you needed...never used it myself.

    @roco5 I have setup my philips Hue bulb for 3 blood sugar ranges and I used IFTTT for it and works great. I used the integrated IFTTT in Spike to accomplish this but a small Python web service could do the same thing.
    @roco5 https://YOURSITE.herokuapp.com/api/v1/entries/sgv.json endpoint will give you what you need to determine current and previous blood sugars (to calculate trend).

    Anyone with an 81 series transmitter having failed restarts? 3 in a row now fail when trying to pre-emptive restart since I got a new transmitter. Worked fine with old one. Stinks getting 9 days instead of 14ish. Not sure how to trouble shoot since it's like less than once a week thing.

    XDrip will restart my first Sensor, with 81... Transmitter, next night.
    Using latest Nightly Version.
    Will report tomorrow.
    SabineDo
    @SabineDo
    @rudgeman Which xdrip version do you use?
    rudgeman
    @rudgeman
    @Alamo04 thanks, I appreciate that.
    @SabineDo
    @SabineDo I'm on
    xDrip-plus-20190518-14a03a7
    Idk why it sent twice like that, sorry. But update channel beta. Was working great with my last transmitter, so wondering if that's the issue.
    rudgeman
    @rudgeman
    If it works fine for @Alamo04 maybe I'll just need to update to a more recent version
    SabineDo
    @SabineDo
    @rudgeman please update!
    @rudgeman you know how to update to nightly?
    rudgeman
    @rudgeman
    @SabineDo other than just using the most recent APK no, is there a way to keep it updated nightly?
    SabineDo
    @SabineDo
    @rudgeman Go to -Settings-xdrip+ update Settings-Update Channel- than Nightlys (Do you have Nightly there?)
    Mario
    @Alamo04
    @rudgeman your version doesn't work with 81... Series, you need to update to nightly
    rudgeman
    @rudgeman
    @SabineDo there's no nightly, only test, beta and stable
    I just updated to the 20th nightly build but I still don't see a nightly update channel
    @Alamo04 got it, glad it's an easy fix. Was so tired of losing sensors early
    SabineDo
    @SabineDo
    @rudgeman than go first to beta, than "check for updated version", than you should see the beta and "nightly"
    rudgeman
    @rudgeman
    @SabineDo when I click check for updated version it says it's checking then nothing happens and if I go back to update settings nothing has changed :(
    SabineDo
    @SabineDo
    @rudgeman wait, perhaps reboot your phone
    rudgeman
    @rudgeman
    @SabineDo that might be it. Will have to wait till I get home, looping without WiFi right now. Will let you know if that does it though, thank you for the help!
    Mario
    @Alamo04
    @rudgeman you can also download the nightly version here: https://github.com/NightscoutFoundation/xDrip/releases
