I'm not coming to SLO today and I'm unaware of Brian's location. But you should probably let him know, in case he shows up before lunch and wonders where you are (he isn't in this chat room).

Hmm strange, Cameron and Simon should be there, AFAIK. Feel free message Brian to see if he knows where they are, and you can always message me if you have questions!

Sorry to hear that. Get well soon!
@jdfreder I'm setting up my local IPython dev install and running into the problem with the css and js not being loaded e.g. "404 GET /static/style/style.min.css" What was the gulp command I needed to run to fix this? Thanks.

If that throws errors, npm install first from within the jupyter/notebook directory.
I should have mentioned, gulp css is done within jupyter/notebook too
np
Alternatively, I think you can python setup.py css - that should still work even when we remove gulp.
(which we plan to do sometime soon)

what's gonna be used to convert the typescript then
Jonathan Frederic
@jdfreder
Jul 22 2015 18:49
npm package.json scripts
See how I do it in the widgets repo:
Much more simple than gulp
Also, @svurens I don't think there's any typescript in the main notebook repo right now which =/= the phosphor notebook repo, yet.
Ah, looks like gulp was already removed by min
jupyter/notebook@c41df91
So @alope107 if gulp isn't working for you, try the other command I listed.

@svurens in min's PR against the notebook, he just runs the commands from the Python setup file.
So in that way, it's a bit different than the widgets.

Thanks I just started that command. I had to fix the way npm install was working, Cal Poly network wasn't letting it work.
Now I'm getting "Could not open static file ''" before a js 404. Do you know what might be causing that?

It may be that the JS isn't compiled

Nevermind! Re-ran installation for notebook and problem went away. Thanks again for the help!

ok awesome
yeah
I think next time you can python setup.py js
running the install should execute that for you as a subcommand
it's possible that it failed the first time
and never ran that script

That could be; I didn't have npm installed when I ran the installation the first time
