You will my friend! I hope to one day visit you in your area as well
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
It's not easy to get an USA visa. China one should be easy.
@markyjackson-taulia
I can be the guide for you if you can visit Beijing
Marky Jackson
@markyjackson-taulia
That would make my heart smile :-)
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
My experience with Chinese visa is quite opposite :(
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
really? it's hard?
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
Around 3 months to get it. But I was going to Wuhan, it should be easier for coastal cities
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
I hope there's a Jenkins world conference in China.
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
CDF summit, I;d guess
Or JUCs which do happen now IIUC
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
Do you mean a stand-alone for CDF summit in China?
Marky Jackson
@markyjackson-taulia
Possible
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
It's 15 years old for Jenkins. It's should have a big event in China.

Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
Nice to see the hackathon in the list. Will it be under the Jenkins Hacktoberfest umbrella?
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
Honestly, don't know too much about the Jenkins Hacktoberfest umbrella
Could give me more hints?
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
Same as previous year, TBA.
https://jenkins.io/blog/2018/10/01/hacktoberfest/
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
I believe that'll be better.
I try to get more sponsor. Because of this event will gather people to a room for 48 hours. We will give the winner a prize.
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
I plan to have a 2-day hackfest in Munich during the GSoC Mentor Summit timeframe
small event in Switzerland
I will send an email to the dev list once I have some time for it this month
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
cool
You're at a full-time job in the community. Right? I wish I could be the same. So I can have more time to help with community.
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
Nope
ATM my job responsibilities are not related to community management
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
Okay, bad guess.
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
Well, I am doing some community engineering job as a part of my work responsibilities, e.g. facilitating JCasC now.
CloudBees generally invests a lot of effort in the community
Zhao Xiaojie
@LinuxSuRen
Yes, I see it. Also, I see several people in Shanghai who's from Cloudbees. Two of them base in China.
They're great.
Matt Sicker
@jvz
I’m doing some community stuff part-time at work, too, but nothing near full-time
Oleg is a champ, though. I look up to him as a community organizer

But for me, I still try to learn more about how to balance between work and life and community.
Oleg Nenashev
@oleg-nenashev
I would not be a good example or work-life-community balance :) Though it got improved a lot over the past year
Marky Jackson
@markyjackson-taulia
I feel you have gotten better or at least hide it better 🙂
