well, good news and bad news
the bad news first: plugin doesn't show up in update center yet
on the other hand, there are good signs:
the update.json file from the update center does have the following entry: "gitlab-plugin":{"buildDate":"Jul 29, 2014","dependencies":[{"name":"git","optional":false,"version":"2.2.1"}],"developers":[{"developerId":"bass_rock","email":"daniel_brooks@dabsquared.com","name":"Daniel Brooks"}],"excerpt":"Build trigger that makes GitLab think Jenkins is GitLab CI.","gav":"com.dabsquared:gitlab-plugin:1.0.5","labels":["trigger"],"name":"gitlab-plugin","releaseTimestamp":"2014-07-30T03:41:16.00Z","requiredCore":"1.564","scm":"github.com","sha1":"m0yqimgHhLpyzfqhX5omEm1LPYc=","title":"GitLab Plugin","url":"http://updates.jenkins-ci.org/download/plugins/gitlab-plugin/1.0.5/gitlab-plugin.hpi","version":"1.0.5","wiki":"https://wiki.jenkins-ci.org/display/JENKINS/GitLab+Plugin"},
you can actually download the hpi file and install it manually

So there's some progress. I could still not find the plugin in those two repositories I mentioned earlier but then again other ones are missing there too.
I want to try one more time releasing (v1.0.6) later today but if you find something else let me know
now we're talkin!
