@bassrock @xaniasd I just wonder if this is a known issue, otherwise I will keep looking
@xaniasd
  1. There is an MR in Gitlab
  2. My jenkins-mr-job runs great and gives feedback to MR
  3. I choose to merge the MR with the option to remove the topic branch inside of Gitlab
  4. The jenkins-mr-job is triggered from what seems to be the deletion of the MR branch
  5. Failed test result is feed back to the already merged MR

@loa I guess it is a known issue now :smile:
the console output of the triggered job logs as a first thing the cause (e.g. Started by Gitlab push..)
what is the cause in the case of the unwanted trigger?
You can also see more verbose logs by adding a logger for com.dabsquared.gitlabjenkins (http://server/log, add new log recorder and set details to FINE)

@xaniasd Instead of a “Started by Gitlab push” this text is present

I noticed you guys release 2.2.5, does it potentially fix the issue?
I will upgrade and test

@loa Which 2.2.5 release? latest one is 1.1.3 (hopefully we can fix the issue before 2.2.5)
are you looking at the correct plugin?

interesting. I believe I have noticed this too, but mine have succeeded and it builds the branch that it was merged into.
Is it possible that this is actually a gitlab issue that is triggering merge builds when it shouldn’t . Or is it somethign that should be coded around
