Rick Herrick
@rherrick
This is causing us a huge amount of grief on our Jenkins server.
This is assigned to @jglick, do you have any idea when a resolution might be released or should we look at rolling back our Jenkins version?
Sverre Moe
@DJViking
I now have made implementation for automake and cmake to jx-release-version. Waiting for my existing PR#31 to be merged before I submit new for these two.
Jesse Glick
@jglick
@rherrick the core amelioration was released weeks ago, just upgrade.

cool word, I hadn't heard that one before

Hi everyone. I need some pair of eyes to debug a problem :) Anyone sees what's wrong with:

node() {
    echo "test"
    def reader = currentBuild.rawBuild.getLogReader()
    reader.eachLine() { line ->
        echo "Line: ${line}"
        if (line.matches(".*test.*")) {
            echo "got it!"
        }
    }
}

It's printing only the 1st log line. More details on https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-54128?focusedCommentId=367383&page=com.atlassian.jira.plugin.system.issuetabpanels:comment-tabpanel#comment-367383

Thx!

some flush issue?
(if so, is there a way to flush the log writing so that getLogReader gets all the log content?)
Vincent Massol
@vmassol
note that using def reader = currentBuild.rawBuild.getLogText().readAll() yield the same result
Vincent Massol
@vmassol
ok seems to be related to groovy since calling currentBuild.rawBuild.getLogReader().getText() works
Vincent Massol
@vmassol
Actually the eachLine issue could be this one: https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-46988
Vincent Massol
@vmassol

getting weird, the following fails:

node() {
    echo "test"
    def reader = currentBuild.rawBuild.getLogReader()
    def br = new BufferedReader(reader)
    def line = null
    def buffer = new ArrayList()
    while (line = br.readLine()) {
        buffer.add(line)
    }
    echo "RESULT: ${buffer}"
}

but the following works:

node() {
    echo "test"
    def reader = currentBuild.rawBuild.getLogReader()
    def br = new BufferedReader(reader)
    def line = null
    def buffer = new ArrayList()
//    while (line = br.readLine()) {
//        buffer.add(line)
//    }
    buffer.add(br.readLine())
    buffer.add(br.readLine())
    buffer.add(br.readLine())
    echo "RESULT: ${buffer}"
}

stderr: Warning: Identity file /var/lib/jenkins/workspace/centos-build-@tmp/ssh1961946035497411897.key not accessible: No such file or directory.

Note that name...."centos-build-"....there should be more there...

--> Where can I find a good doc on how build phases are handled?

(i.e. "pre-submit" vs "master" vs whatever needs to be at the end of that name)

Might not be the correct room, where should I report any ssl issues with updates.jenkins.io?

small help here
echo "${env.JOB_NAME}" i am able to get build name
but when i pass this as
sh 'python -u build_platform.py ${env.JOB_NAME} ' or with "{}" i am not able to get the proper value
Alex Earl
@slide
you need double quotes
mayank srivastava
@mighty_1989_twitter
i get this+ python -u build_platform.py .JOB_NAME
@slide sure
Alex Earl
@slide
```sh "python...
doh
sh "python -u build_platform ${env.JOB_NAME}"
single quotes won't allow variable interpolation
@mighty_1989_twitter
@slide got it , Thank You very much
I just updated to branch API plugin 2.5. When I scan a multibranch pipeline for changes using the git plugin for SCM and branch source or using git for SCM and GitHub for branch source, it launches all the jobs in that multibranch pipeline, even those which have no changes. Anyone else seen something like that?
@AnalogJ
anyone running into issues with the jenkins-test-harness + Jenkins Job DSL plugin throwing SAX XML parsing errors?
lineNumber: 1; columnNumber: 20; XML version "1.1" is not supported, only XML 1.0 is supported.
Hey folks, is it okay if I ask some technical issues here?
Mark Waite
@MarkEWaite
Branch API 2.5.0 seems to start jobs for all branches on first scan of a multibranch pipeline after first upgrade to branch API 2.5.0. See https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-57588 for the bug report
Okay, so perhaps it would be better for me to create a new issue, but. I'm currently having inconsistent OOM issues with Jenkins to Kubernetes, doing maven builds. https://issues.jenkins-ci.org/browse/JENKINS-57165 Relates to my problem, but doesn't take into account kubernetes and maven builds. I've defined proper jvm values, and if I connect directly to the kubernetes pod the builds work successfully with no OOM issues. OOM only happens when Jenkins does the build. Should I start a new issue, or add to the prior?
I've been asked to automate database migrations. I'm a Jenkins noob. We're in a .net environment leveraging SQL Server. Any of you guys ever automate EDMX updates?
christopher hahn
@chahn1138_gitlab
I am seeing it again:
CMake Error: The source directory "/var/lib/jenkins/workspace/centos-build-/soft/src" does not exist.
I have convinced myself that this is the TRIGGER_TYPE, but did not know that it was not possible to run a Project without one.
@fusion27 Can you run your actions as Powershell scripts? (think of Jenkins as just the driver....if you can script it, then Jenkins can run that script for you)
Björn Magnusson
@bjornmagnusson
@fusion27 I can recommend using flyway for that, pretty seamless. https://flywaydb.org/
@Pigeast
Hello, everyone, may I ask, now I want to ask Jenkins to send a request and report the result of its build after the completion of the build? I used the plug-in Outbound WebHook notification, but there is a problem, the url it needs must be written dead, and I can't get the environment variable, so I cancel it. Is there anything else?
image.png
anyother plugin could do it ?
christopher hahn
@chahn1138_gitlab
FYI: My incapacity regarding the TRIGGER_TYPE was confirmed. :0)
Hey folks, apologies for being impatient. I'm currently getting tons of OOM issues from jenkins-to-aks-pod maven builds. Has anyone else encountered this issue before?
Marky Jackson
@markyjackson-taulia
What does the pod log output look like? Also what does your yaml look like. That is where I would start. Then look at the node the pod is running on
joshua-alday
@joshua-alday
So I'm using AKS on azure (I hope that doesn't make a huge difference.) The log output varies, sometimes the oom issue is consistent, but other times it's completely different. But normally related to resources.
can I post log snippets here?
