    I can host the meeting if needed, but no objections w.r.t cancelling

    @adi10hero:matrix.org so sorry for my mistake not starting on time! I was finishing the retrospective from the SheCodeAfrica Contributhon and lost track of time.

    @MarkEWaite: Its absolutely fine, I should have checked back sooner, I will go through the notes/recording to see what was discussed :)

    @MarkEWaite
    Recording is at https://youtu.be/gU3UnYuq5gM. I've also sent a request to the Docs SIG mailing list asking Y R Sudhakar if he's interested in changing the sequence to put plugin installation manager documentation into ci.jenkins.io sooner. https://groups.google.com/g/jenkinsci-docs/c/BUXIByMikwA/m/-9mtuAYQAgAJ

    @yr-sudhakar
    @MarkEWaite Yes, I am working on it.

    Thanks so much @yr-sudhakar ! We're so glad to have you involved in the Jenkins project

    Hi all, I've met a issue which is about JNLP slave(Container based) cannot allocate more thread under ARM architecture. This issue have never occured under X86 Platform. Have anyone met this problem before? I've add some log output under git-client plugin: class CliGitAPIImpl Function launchCommandIn
    image.png
    ZeTian Zhang
    @englandbaron
    I realized that each JNLP slave process will create above to 40 numbers' thread, however, this problem only occurred randomly when I run the Pipeline. Even though the Cron Trigger was settled per one minute

    https://issues.jenkins.io/browse/JENKINS-65672 I've created this BUG under git-client-plugin component

    englandbaron: you probably want to ask about it in the main jenkins channel, this is a specific channel for one of the special interest groups
    Mark Waite
    @MarkEWaite
    I've been running agents and controllers on ARM32 and on ARM64 without any issue. The comments in https://issues.jenkins.io/browse/JENKINS-65672 indicate it may be a kernel configuration change that is needed on their installation. Need to allow enough threads for Jenkins to do its work

    hi all! I'm new here and would like to volunteer some of my time if necessary to help maintaining the docker images.

    Hey Bruce :)
    Bruce Becker
    @brucellino
    :wave: I'm keen to learn about how things work here - I'm a long time lurker, long time Jenkins admin for fun and profit, but haven't participated much in the community side of things.
    Tim Jacomb
    @timja
    mostly everything goes on in https://github.com/jenkinsci/docker

    @timja
    lots of issues need triage and closing
    Bruce Becker
    @brucellino
    is there some sort of stalebot in this repo?
    Tim Jacomb
    @timja
    nope
    the issues need some triage / labelling first before enabling that I think
    but would be good if it's required for managing
    Bruce Becker
    @brucellino
    :bow: thanks - I'm taking a look through the PRs and issues to get a lay of the land. will have a better look this evening
    Tim Jacomb
    @timja
    nice!

    Per the discussion in jenkins-infra/jenkins.io#4384, could a Platform SIG group member kindly request a jenkins/developer cloak on my behalf in Libera Chat? My Libera Chat username is bcrow and my GitHub username is basil. Many thanks in advance.
    halkeye
    @halkeye:g4v.dev
    [m]
    this is what I was a little afraid of, libera is moving super fast and without really planning. We (i) havn't figured out who can request cloaks, and what the cloak should be. I don't think its a platform thing though
    jenkins/contributor/basil maybe?
    Basil Crow
    @basil
    No strong preference. The existing docs (https://github.com/jenkins-infra/jenkins.io/blob/b338db411c4bcb28e7ec0c27b19ffdc72595f1d7/content/chat.adoc#cloaks) reference "jenkins/developer/(username)", but I can update that to whatever we decide on in the abovementioned PR.
    halkeye
    @halkeye:g4v.dev

    I like contributor cause it means inclusiveness of non dev work. I'll wait to see what the list says
    Basil Crow
    @basil
    Sounds good. I have updated jenkins-infra/jenkins.io#4384 accordingly.

    Hi, are there any recommendations for running Jenkins locally, via something like docker-compose for demo purposes?
    slide-o-mix
    @slide-o-mix:matrix.org
    [m]
    what are you looking for in terms of features?
    Gareth Evans
    @garethjevans
    i suppose a basic setup really pipeline, jcasc if possible. if it was within docker-compose, the ability to launch docker agents would be nice
    halkeye
    @halkeye:g4v.dev
    [m]
    as we were reminded in #jenkins yesterday, none of the default jenkins image includes the docker cli, so even if you include the socket you won't be able to launch agents (afaik)
    Gareth Evans
    @garethjevans
    there is some resistance to running the helm-chart via kind / kubernetes via docker desktop - i'm not sure why yet, but i'd like to be able to replicate some of this
    ah
    slide-o-mix
    @slide-o-mix:matrix.org
    [m]
    you'd have to create a "child" image
    halkeye
    @halkeye:g4v.dev
    [m]
    yea i guess thats not hard in docker compose, just use build:
    slide-o-mix
    @slide-o-mix:matrix.org

    I'm not familiar with docker-compose very much yet...looking into it soon though

    It looks like a good idea. Sounds like a good idea. Even feels like a good idea. Then you hit a random bug and you want to destroy it
    It's certainly gotten better, but it still can trigger weirdness, especially with networks
    slide-o-mix
    @slide-o-mix:matrix.org

    I think a VM may be a better solution for me, but I'll feel it out
    Mark Waite
    @MarkEWaite
    The Maven, NodeJS, and Python tutorials all guide the user to create their own image that includes Blue Ocean and the Docker CLI. They use Docker in Docker to run their demonstration though they run Docker on the controller rather than running it as an agent. https://www.jenkins.io/doc/tutorials/build-a-java-app-with-maven/
