yeah we’re all here for support. for people using the beta especially, we really need feedback
plusses and minuses to being an early adopter

i'm setup with the blog template, hows the migration?
Jeff Escalante
@jescalan
Aug 28 2014 21:41
yeah so npm i roots@pre -g will upgrade
the migration is a little tough from the blog template
we moved out non-core functionality to plugins

this is where dynamic content is now
works the same way but you can configure it further, and only include it when you need
also much better test coverage :)

easier for me to start a new project, or is updating folder/files not too hairy
?
Jeff Escalante
@jescalan
Aug 28 2014 21:44
probably easier to start a new project honestly
there are a bunch of small things to upgrade which it’s easy to miss and hard to remote debug
Adam Argyle
@argyleink
Aug 28 2014 21:45

stoked you guys are hackin on this
what's the future of axis?
Jeff Escalante
@jescalan
Aug 28 2014 21:52
for sure, we are very invested in it as a company
it essentially has corporate backing as I work on it and the ecosystem during work hours
axis has a new version out as well thats much better
it’s included by default in v3
it’s got a solid test suite and is now built on top of nib
still under active development
another tool called rupture is also includeded, which is the standard for breakpoints in stylus
we also work closely with the team behind jeet, which is a grid system for stylus
really nice grid, very advanced yet simple to use
i think we have the stylus stack in a very nice place
a lot of this has sort of been under the radar, but I’d love to have you join in and take advantage too if you want
Adam Argyle
@argyleink
Aug 28 2014 21:55
yay, nib =) i wondered if you would use their utils instead of rolling your own. rupture nice.
havent used jeet yet, but honestly used my own grid instead of roots' before anyway
i'll be hackin on a multi-blog type site here for the next month or 2, i'll do my best to contribute and report as i go along
cool, great stuff, and really nice of your company to help fund this project
they'll get a lot in return, so nice job selling them on it
too bad i'm west coast, i woulda applied at carrot =)
