@permadesign yes, I looked into prismic but its not going to be something I can rely on until they support a write API
I have an open issue for this with quite a number of people supporting it
Once they add that I'll probably make an adapter. Anyone else is welcome to make one in the meantime though, it will still work!
@andyshora thank you! merged
@javaporter nailed it with the comparison as well. I haven't found an API CMS I'm happy with yet. Contentful has it all except for the absurd pricing, but that is really bad, doesnt make it something you can really rely on for any site
I actually had a long call with them and argued with them very hard over the phone to try to get them to price reasonably but they refused it because they are making money gouging large corporate companies that don't notice the difference
@eholzwarth I think @samccone could help out with this! I also have a video called "hybrid static" on the homepage that walks through the code for something like this

@javaporter did you try importing the dependencies (foundation.scss) from your app.scss file? That's the way to go.

However, I had issues importing files from different top level dirs, which I believe is a sass problem. The css-pipeline should work with sass, just make sure system deps are installed and you just have the one target sass file importing all its dependencies.

@jenius @javaporter Thanks for the replies. Same issues I could foresee with the pricing; I'd mainly be making smaller sites with Roots and if they reached 1,000 blog posts (or I imported a load of old ones) and the pricing jumped to $50 per month that would be unacceptable. Seems there's always one thing with new CMSs which make them unusable for client work, will keep searching though!
@jenius if you're ever in the south-west of the UK I'd love for you to talk about Roots at Bristol Nodeschool!

@jenius i do have xcode, latest... updated march 19th. so does that image i posted of roots install look like something isn't installing properly? i've got latest everything, maybe that's the issue? i'm so stumped. but appreciate the investigative help from ya =)
