@hajzso there is no grid as far as I can tell … what is your project like? you need a full-blown grid?

yeah for more complex layouts it would be nice to have
I'm just playing around with roots, axis is lots of fun

yeah, I love the fact that roots does NOT come with anything :)
and that you can replace / plug in pretty much anything you want

roots started throwing stylus compile errors for empty lines now
I'm sure i'm missing something, but it's getting really frustrating... i tried switching IDE, indenting the empty line, doesn't work
as far as I can there there is nothing wrong with my indentation

atom keeps putting a new line on the end of the file, i don't think that's the problem but it's weird anyways :smile:

hey @hajzso -- what is the error its throwing?
are you sure your files are normalized as all spaces or all tabs?
mixed spaces and tabs are not something stylus likes
also it will error for a selector with no rules indented under it, but this is easy to fix just drop the emtpy selector
as for grid frameworks, I'd check out jeet
works nicely with stylus

other than it being out of day, are there other downsides to using the template vs configuring roots / contentful by hand?

one quick question … I assume there is a bit of work involved in getting roots extensions to work in spike
Jeff Escalante
@jescalan
Jun 06 2016 19:34
they are entirely incompatible
Tom Kraak
@tkraak
Jun 06 2016 19:34
I figured as much
Jeff Escalante
@jescalan
Jun 06 2016 19:34
although we will have the functionality from all the essential roots plugins prepared for spike
before launch
we already have a big chunk of it honestly
let me know what you're after and i'll put it on the list, or make a plugin yourself
it uses webpack's plugin api, so there are lots of examples out there already
and if there's an existing webpack plugin, you can use it directly with spike and it will work

yeah, all the essential plugins listed on roots.cx would be great … but right now I’m heavy into contentful
I’ll take a look at webpack's plugin api, thx
oh, did you end up meeting with the contentful folks recently? can you share anything?

with roots-contentful … how can I drop the .html extension from single page views?

h2: a(href= post._url)= post.title … that still includes the extension though
