Hey everonye, I just inherited a new code base built around roots and it is compiling painfully slow. Around 12 minutes locally on a very specced out iMac. I'm just wondering if there are resources to improving compile time.
@nathantiff there's a couple different reasons a build time like that could happen - its usually either its processing a ton of files or there are a lot of network calls to fetch data
there's a project called, https://github.com/carrot/roots-ignore which lets you set up rules around which files should actually be rebuilt after a change. this can dramatically speed up rebuilds locally if you're working on a particular section of the site and don't need the rest to be recompiled
then when you go to deploy, you'd just want to compile the site entirely and bear with the slow compile time
