    Common as in "predictable" and "cross DB"

    @MathieuAA Thanks. Makes sense. Is the naming rules documented somewhere? I've got another application producing the data and it needs to be in sync with the JHipster naming .
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    @sparkle2012 I don't know, perhaps

    Hello, I have a dumb question. Are the entities generated by Jhipster (User and Authority) known by JDL-studio even if we don't declare ourselves ? When I try to export the basic jhispter project, there is nothing in my JDL file (except a comment)
    Alejandro Matos
    @amatosg
    they are

    I noticed in the jdl docs for application decleration that the baseName is always in camel case. When I define my JDL, should I use camel case for the baseName?
    Alejandro Matos
    @amatosg
    yes, you should

    Hi all! I need to have JDL create a "LongText" field in my mysql DB. I tried TextBlob but it gave me varchar(255).
    Bobby King
    @cuzimbob_twitter
    Oh, and one more question... Can I get JDL to set my entities to fetchtype=fetch.EAGER?
    Bobby King
    @cuzimbob_twitter
    Looks like TextBlob finally created "LongText". Just took a few imports for it to work.
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    Hi there! No the JDL doesn't handle the fetching strategy

    Is the Many-to-One relationship bidirectional, or just unidirectional? The docs online aren't clear about that.
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    Both

    How to set one of the properties to a unique index when creating an entity in jdl
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    Hi. You have the "unique" can constraint. You don't have, however, the possibility to add an index

    Hi there. I have finally managed to generate a manyToMany relationship between courses and users and locked everything down so only the ADMIN can interact with that. The next step is, that a USER can see Courses too BUT: I only want to fetch a derived sparse version of the Courses from the database without userinformation because users don't need to see who else has subscribed to a course nor I want to transfer everyones elses complete user object through my rest api to the client, for the sake of security. Hope you understand what I mean. Is there any helpful tooling for that common task I have missed or do I have to go and Implement a complete new DTO, Repository, Interface, ViewModel etc. just to omit the Users from the model. I am thankfull for any hint! :)
    Johannes Weiß
    @dependencyinjection81
    Sorry guys^^ Maby lazy instead of eager loading is the right way to go? But how can I implement a findAll() lazy loaded without touching the model?
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    Hi, this isn't handled by the JDL
    You have to change the code for that
    Johannes Weiß
    @dependencyinjection81
    Ya. Thank you. In the meantime I figured it out tho. I managed it with a new repository and a new DTO and mapped with a native query the result to that customized DTO. Works like a charm after 1 day of investigating :) I love JHipster but there should be a section for that task in the official documentation in my opinion because all I found were endless "DTO and ViewModel" - discussions about JHipsters architecture in general from 2017 on Stack Overflow with no conclusion how JHipster thinks, how this should be done. :) And your right. This is not really a JDL Topic. Sorry
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    Don't worry. If you feel the docs should be improved, funny hesitate to drop a PR or create an issue about this point

    Dear Team ,
    On the online dashboard for JDLs , https://start.jhipster.tech/#/design-entities, What about enable the sorting for the design-entities on the table there, I have a lot of designs there , I am try to sort them by date but I could not find a way there , Thanks for your great support
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    Hi Islam! This channel isn't about JHipster online
    There's a repo for that, you can drop an issue there

    Hello, all I have a small problem after running JDL import on the following entity with DTO option set to MapStruct. The customerDTO does not have an entry for customerAccounts.
    How to instruct Mapstruct and to generate customerAccounts in customerDTO class.

    if I Disable mapstruct, it solves my problem but I need DTOs in my project.

    entity Customer {
    name String
    address String
    }

    entity CustomerAccount {
    number String
    type String
    }

    relationship OneToMany {
    Customer{customerAccount(number)} to CustomerAccount{customer(name)}
    }

    dto with mapstruct
    service
    with serviceImpl
    paginate with pagination
    filter

    @MathieuAA
    I'll check it

    Hello everyone! I defined an entity in my JDL but the app reports that the table does not exist
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    Hello @javac9! There can be a lot of cases where this could happen: can you provide reproducible steps so that I can check? Thanks
    Javac Aydic
    @javac9
    I did the following to resolve it: mvnw liquibase:dropAll and also deleted all Liquibase scripts except the one with "000000000000" (initial one) in the project and then it worked

    Is it possible with JDL Studio to declare an attribute that should look like this: @type? Directly in Angular I can achieve this by: '@type'
    Mathieu ABOU-AICHI
    @MathieuAA
    No, unless such a mapping is made

    I am sorry for the double posting. I should have put this here.

    I am curious about the choice of defaults for JDL. Typically, I modify the generated domain java classes by adding the following to OneToMany relationships:

    , cascade = CascadeType.PERSIST
    @JsonManagedReference and @JsonBackReference in the referenced class.

    Also, I frequently use a List rather than a Set.

    Hi, Jhipster generated dummy data do not contain relationship data, and I can not find any information about it over internet. Is there some way to tell the generator to generate it or this functionality is not implemented yet?
    and there is any way to configure dummy data generator to generate more rows?
    gcc123123
    @gcc123123
    well, about my first question, i found the problem.
    According the dummy data template.
    for (relationship of relationships) {
      const relationshipType = relationship.relationshipType
      if (
        (relationshipType === "many-to-one"
          || (relationshipType === "one-to-one" && relationship.ownerSide === true
             && (relationship.id == null || relationship.id === false))
        ) && (relationship.relationshipValidate === true && relationship.relationshipRequired)
      ) {
        header.push(getColumnName(relationship.relationshipName) + "_id");
      }
    }
    its only handle many to one and one to one relationship :3

    Hello Guys, I created a microservice with jhipster using a jdl with auth keycloak by default, so I'm wondering if there is any documentation on how to use endpoints with postman and authenticate ? thanks for your help

    Hi everyone , I want to ask if I could map two entities using another column instead of the id (primary key) in the jdl file
