how i dont know?
it is not connecting to database when i run that image?
Gerald Mixa
@gmixa
Well docker by default doesn’t allow access to the network. How to allow networking is part of the docker documentation. You have to allow the docker container which includes the database to listen to the network a d the container that includes your application to access the network. All information is in docker documentation!

i have a doubt,when we dockerize a springboot app which uses oracle database,my doubt is is it required to have database setup in another machine to run that docker image

If you think container technology isn’t right for you just do not use it and discuss it with your boss/customer! Never use a non fitting technology!

Hi guys. I tried my first jhipster project and can't find how to validate my controller responses... I used the openapi generator, added a @Service class that implements the generated ApiApiDelegate interface, added @Validated on top of my service class declaration, added @Valid on top of my service methods, and hardcoded an invalid response as an example... when I invoke my endpoint, I would expect a validation error but instead my hard-coded invalid response is returned. Do I need to resort to manual validation in this scenario?

Any developer reading here? Is it really necessary to generate user and authortity entitites with corresponding microservices and everything and the kitchen sink when using 0auth?

Anyone how to add Swagger-UI to Jhipster generated project? Even if I add "API first development using OpenAPI-generator" in the technologies to use, it is not giving me 'api' option in the Administration in nav

hi, I am using caffeine for our cache right now but wanted to implement a second cache with redis for some objects. We run a cluster of multiple monolithic apps running at the same time and want to share the cache on some objects but not all of them. I wondered if anyone has a blueprint for this as I am having a hard time getting two caches wired up

FWIW - Just found Neo4j beta here https://www.jhipster.tech/using-neo4j/ -> but TIL that Spring Data Neo4j/RX was replaced by SDN 6... um, maybe as recently as May 2021.

I'm curious who's working on JHipster & Neo4j integration? Thx! :)

I'm trying the tutorial on Google Cloud Shell... It seems the tutorial is for a slightly older version of JHipster so I did have to make some guesses when answering some initial generator questions. I tried to do the most basic thing when there was a different. The project compiles, tests run and the project starts. But admin/admin and user/user are not allowed to login.

What exactly does not work? The command is fine. Probably some issues with your jdl file.

New to jhipster and question: When I create a relationship to the built in User entity, my API model that's generated in Swagger wants the entire User object to be part of the request; e.g. User related to Cars....and now the PUT request for Cars wants the entire User graph included? How should I be modeling this such the API only requires the User ID and not the entire User graph?

Sometimes the API menu under Administration gets built, but sometimes it doesn't. How do I force it to be built all the time?
@emilpaw , Do you know if there is any syntax checking available for a JDL file? I also spent WAY too long because I named a relationship name "package".

New to jhipster and really need help with this question (sorry for repeating) : When I create a relationship to the built in User entity, my API model that's generated in Swagger wants the entire User object to be part of the request; e.g. User related to Cars....and now the PUT request for Cars wants the entire User graph included? How should I be modeling this such the API only requires the User ID and not the entire User graph? I can not include the relationship and only include the ID field in the Cars object representing the link to User but this doesn’t like the correct way to do it….

I am not understanding something about how relationships are created... OneToOne KINDA works as expected, however, when I use ManyToMany { A{b(foo) to B{a(foo) } the generated code is not bi-directional. The TypeScript Model Objects are correct! The java looks like it should work as well. But the generated app does not have A -> B and B -> A relationships. Please see this repo https://github.com/hepaestus/testproject Here is my JDL: https://github.com/hepaestus/testproject/blob/main/testproject.jdl

@amatosg Can anyone point to a demo or test project that builds as stated the different relationship types?
@amatosg It creates the relationships but the SQL Queries are not comprehensive. You do not get the entire object and all its relationships even when you choose FetchType.EAGER
@amatosg I think there is a numerical limit the number of relationships that will work automatically.
Peter E Olsen III
@hepaestus
@amatosg It seems like if your entities are "too complex" it breaks.
@amatosg I have tried all kinds of entity definition types and styles and I still am not getting the relationships to work as I expect them to. SO Either I am thinking about this wrong, which is entirely possible, OR It's not working as it should. OR BOTH. I am super frustrated.
Alejandro Matos
@amatosg
@hepaestus If you're not getting the relationship as desired, I would recommend to get the additional objects in the service layer
