Should this work? I'm trying to follow the docs with the JDL entities and relating it back to a User

entity Organization {
    name String required

relationship OneToMany {
    Organization{user(login)} to User

But end up getting an error:

WARNING! Error at 'Organization' definitions: 'otherEntityRelationshipName' is set with value 'organization' at relationship 'user' but no back-reference was found at 'user'
Error running generator entities: Error: Error at entity Organization: could not find the other side of the relationship {
    "otherEntityField": "login",
    "otherEntityName": "user",

    "otherEntity": "[User Entity]",

We have an awful and dated column naming convention in my org. Change has not been embraced. The JDL Studio does not allow column names with underscores, e.g., num_agency. Can I a) edit the resulting JDL or will the generator fail, b) just create and edit without and fixup the resulting entities?

Hi friends. I'm attempting to follow the Kafka streams guide (as per documentation) with Kotlin. Unfortunately I'm stuck on a function overload for this .groupBy( { (key: String, word: String) -> word }, Grouped.with(Serdes.String(), Serdes.String()) ) the compiler can't determine which function overload between Grouped<KR!, Any!> and Serialized<KR!, Any!> I'm aiming for the former but I'm not sure how to make this explicit for the compiler. How do I resolve this?

Hi ! I'm trying to protect my prometheus metrics endpoint under localhost:8080/management/prometheus with a basic http auth but I'm running into a problem, where should I put the BasicAuthConfiguration.java file in my project that the documentation (https://www.jhipster.tech/monitoring/) provides ?

Having problems with heroku running bonsai service under latest jhipster version. Getting the following exception: ElasticsearchException: Invalid or missing build flavor [oss] - seems like we have to downgrade spring data elasticsearch dependency? Bonsai is running their services under version 7.10.2 and jhipster tries to connect with a newer incompatible version from spring boot 2.6.x ? Anyone facing similar problems?

Hi All, I am working on Jhipster app : Springboot + Angular which has CRUD tables in page. The tables are generated based on predefined structure of JHIPSTER. I want to customize it by adding PRIMENG CRUD table structure and it should apply to all new ENTITIES ( tables ) generated in future.
How can I customize or use the jhipster-generator github build? your suggestions are highly appreciated. thanks

BTW the Jhipster-generator build seems to be licensed.

Hi All, I am trying to use jhipster to generate microservice applications. The back-end code of entity generated by jhipster JDL is in microservice applications, and the front-end code generated is in gateway application .

If in gateway_app \ webpack \environment.js Configure SERVER_API_URL: '' ", then when I operate the generated front-end UI , it calls the URL of the back-end micro service with the address of / API / entities, but the back-end address that needs to be called through the gateway should be / services / app1 / API / entities1

If I set SERVER_API_URL in webpack \environment.js as '' gateway / services / app1 ", then the account address called during OAuth authentication becomes http://gateway/services/app1/api/account , resulting in authentication failure.
How to configure and solve the above problems, thank you for your suggestions.

My Mac M1 adventures continue. Kafka and Zookeeper 5.5.7 both would not behave on Apple Silicon. 5.5.7 containers would not build properly on the M1. I had to upgrade to 7.1.1 to get it to build and thus work. Some good tips here... https://nxt.engineering/blog/kafka-docker-image/ i'll likely be adding a "tips and tricks" to the docs soon.

Hi everyone,

Just tried today to limit the permissions I needed to update my application in aws beanstalk, so that I don't have to give:

  • AmazonS3FullAccess
  • AmazonRDSFullAccess
  • IAMFullAccess

I ended up with just AdministratorAccess-AWSElasticBeanstalk plus a policy with the following actions:

  • ec2:CreateSecurityGroup
  • ec2:DescribeSecurityGroups
  • iam:CreateRole
  • iam:GetInstanceProfile
  • iam:GetRole
  • iam:ListRoles
  • rds:CreateDBInstance
  • rds:DescribeDBInstances
  • s3:CreateBucket
  • s3:GetObject
  • s3:ListBucket
  • s3:PutObject

Though I've only tried it with an update, most of the resources (rds, bucket, beanstalk environment) were already created.

Sharing here in case it's useful to anyone..

Jhipster v7.8.1 with cassandra: Hi team I am working on building a solution for IOT app where sensor data will be pushed to cassandra and there will be an UI app that will pull in those via java backed microservices . I have been using jhipster for past 2 years and its is phenomenal. Need one help though regarding cassandra with jhipster. I just generated the basic skeleton for a monolith app to start the explocation but admin/admin is not letting me log in to the web. Then I went back and read jhipster site that says "It does not support OAuth2 authentication (we need to implement a Cassandra back-end to Spring Security’s OAuth2 server)". So how do I log in to the system after bootstrapping ?

I'm trying to send email using AWS SES, and the docs show a configuration https://www.jhipster.tech/tips/011_tip_configuring_email_in_jhipster.html, but it's not working and it looks like I need to create a new JavaMailSender implementation to use AWS SES. Is anyone using it as is?

Has anyone dealt with this before? I get this error when trying to go from jHipster Angular 5 to jHipster Angular 9 (im currently on Angular 8 to 9 in that process)
Error: error TS100: Can't resolve all parameters for JhiTranslateDirective in node_modules/ng-jhipster/ng-jhipster.d.ts: ([object Object], [object Object], ?).
i used jHipster to build our project back in Angular 5 but now have veered away from Jhipster and just want to upgrade Angular to the latest but dealing with issues like this that are related to the libraries. Any help would be appreciated. thank you!

Hello, does anybody have the same problem, that oracle is missing in the SQL selection?
I cant find any help on google or stackoverflow.
Already reinstalled node/npm and jhipster.
Nevermind, when selecting spring webflux, oracle is no option.

The findOneWithEagerRelationships defined in * repositoryinternalimpl.java call "return findbyid (ID);", Why do you need to define an additional findOneWithEagerRelationships method?
Hello all ! I have an entity A linked (one to many) to another one (B), and on the update form of entity A, the list of entity B doesn't show all B entities (I'm using Angular on the front side). Has anybody solve this problem ? Do I have to load all B entities into the list ?
Hi I can answer that
OneToMany relationships are usually lazily loaded which mean that child entities don't come , you need to switch the fetch type to eager and allow jackson to read the property by removing it from the JsonIgnoreProperties

or you can just load the list with the entities which gives you better control over which data goes where , and as a consequence keep performance issues to a minimum

I have a simple question that :
How do Maven profiles relate to Spring profiles?

Why don't I see syntax like this :
active: @profiles.active@

Is there a Maven plugin that does this?
Thank you for your attention to this issue

Hello, what component in jhipster creates the Management UI in React/Vue etc? Can that be used retrospectively in another non jhipster microservice? I want to create a CRUD admin UI rather than manually doing SQL updates on the DB

Hello everyone,
after the upgrade of the jhipster version from 6.10 to 7.8.1 I m facing some problems in particular in the entities and the relations between them, for example in an entity OrganizationDTO we had "Long countryId" and "String countryName", but with the new version 7.8.1 in we have "Country country",
how to have only the id and the name and not the object, thanks in advance
I'm new to jhipster. I'm wondering if I need to include all entities in the gateway as suggested by jdl microservice example?

Hi, I created the jhipster application with mongodb and elasticsearch. I created the container of the working jhipster project in dockerhub and I tried to deploy that container in openshift. I can not access the webpage of the application. For instance, I can see at localhost:8080 when I run it locally.
is there anyway to increase the time before an api throws a gateway timeout for a monolith application?

Hi everyone
I've got no idea what's going on. I'm trying to deploy my microservices created using jhipster to aws and the services do not seem to respond to environment properties.
I tried adding SPRING_DATASOURCE_URL, SPRING_DATASOURCE_USERNAME and SPRING_DATASOURCE_PASSWORD to the environment variables as well as jhipster-registry config repo, but the service is still trying to connect to localhost:5432.
