good, I applied for a job and met with the CTO...he said he wants me to learn meteor and build an app by next week and he will consider hiring me as an apprentice
lol
So I'm like darting around looking for tutorials real quick
I heard about Meteor on a podcast and it sounds amazing, so will be fun to spend a week playing with it even if I don't take the job.

@colbycheeze We've had a bunch of meteorJS hangouts at CodeBuddies (http://hangouts.codebuddies.org/category/meteorjs)! I'm also thinking of creating a 24-hour meteorJS study room so that people don't need to propose new events every time they want to just focus on MeteorJS. Let me know if you'd be interested in something like that. And good luck with your first app!
@colbycheeze One of the first meteorJS tutorials I started with was meteortips.com (free book). Highly recommend it.

I suggest checking out Ruby Rebels on Meetup.com
I’ve given talks there, and we usually have fun.

Yes Geekdom sponsors all tech meetups
I was thinking of maybe trying out Geekdom for a month but not sure. I have a pretty badass office lol.
and I just bought a new 27” 1440 monitor

I spent a few month down here last year too and I actually signed up for a community membership for a month or so, it was cool, but as you mentioned its hard to get away from the home office, my gear isn't out here yet but I have 2 x 24" screen along with my laptop which I pretty much need.

Yea I mostly use 2 monitors now…3 was too distracting. That’s why I got a big one so I can use it for the majority of my work and my 2nd monitor will just have any reference or video stuff that I may need.
All I ended up putting on my 3rd monitor was chats and music and calendar…and stuff that I didn’t need to see while coding.

Yeah I would agree with you, I'm also not very economic with my window management, one whole screen is for a site / project I'm working on, one is for email / editor / photoshop and my laptop screen is exclusively used for FTP client and time tracking. I'd love to get my hands on (at least to try) a 27" 4k screen.
