    @Engjell00 [Joomla 3][Gantry 5][PHP 7.2] Engjell, just be sure to always obtain your add-on's via a link obtained on the Joomla.org Extension page. Never download and install an add-on from a 3rd party source. It is safer!
    Luke Douglas
    @LukeDouglas2
    @mickmackusa [Joomla 3][Gantry 5][PHP 7.2] Stack Exchange is a good vehicle for asking questions and posting answers as it is subject thread based. I just wish that Gitter had the same functionality as it is used by quite a few people. Maybe it would be better to have a "gantry5/joomla", "gantry5/wordpress" and "gantry5/grav" conversations to separate into the three areas that Gantry covers. I never or rarely respond to any 'WordPress' or 'Grav' questions as I am dedicated to Joomla. :)

    @LukeDouglas2 Stack Overflow and Stack Exchange sites are IMO superior platforms for exchanging knowledge compared to any other forum/thread format. They are designed to be all "lean meat" and no noise (well, they are designed to be that way anyhow, I blame humans for any messes). Support questions and answers that hit ANY forum/thread system are notoriously hard to navigate and "good" advice gets "lost". I don't really think my SE fanboy-ism is contributing too much bias here, I've never found an online platform that outperforms SO/SE.
    Luke Douglas
    @LukeDouglas2
    @mickmackusa It's not a problem being a 'fanboy-ism' about SO/SE. We all have our own preferences and opinions which is each person right. I'll still be poking my head into the 5-6 platforms that I use. :)

    I asked on stack exchange my issue was resolve but I feel like most of the questions asked on that platform are just ignored lol.
    Mick Harner
    @mickmackusa
    @Engjell00 Yes, we all love it when are support requests are immediately resolved. I find that only the Unclear/Too Broad/Incomplete questions are left unresolved. Charlie Lodder and Sharky are very wise and frequent contributors to JSE. When posters take the time to research in advance, use appropriate terminology, provide a reproducible issue, and respond to requests for clarification from volunteers, a resolution is almost certain. I am happy to see that you crafted good questions. Asking "good" questions is integral in the prosperity of the community (regardless of if the question is "simple/basic" or not). If you continue to use JSE responsibly everybody wins. Best of luck going forward. If you are able to grab a flight to Australia in August, I'll be doing a presentation for JoomlaDay Australia on Joomla Stack Exchange followed by a workshop so that people can confidently/productively interact in the community.

    Does anyone have an opinion on the most appropriate course of action to resolve this issue? https://joomla.stackexchange.com/q/24364/12352 The OP is able to safely store the multibyte unicode "lock" icon after converting the #__content table's text field type to BLOB. He is concerned that Joomla upgrades will impact his data and require manual handling after each upgrade. How will this issue be receive by the GitHub team? Might anyone submit the issue in an articulate way? If anyone has an alternative solution for the linked question, please post it as an answer there.

    @mickmackusa awesome man thanks !

    @LukeDouglas2

    I edited the permissions for the 'Facebook Articles' category to give the 'Facebook' user group all permissions (create/delete/edit/edit state/edit own).

    I have created a menu link 'Create Article' restricted to 'Facebook' user group and restricted to creating articles in the 'Facebook Articles' category.

    However, when a user who is a member of the 'Facebook' user group logs in, The menu link will not appear. I have tried moving the 'Facebook' user group under both the 'Registered' or 'Administrator' group but that didn't work. It is currently under the 'Registered' group.

    If anyone has any suggestions, I would appreciate feedback!

    Hello everyone, I'm searching a way to define a default intro image in the Joomla article creator from the core (when a user create an article if he don't add an intro image there is one by default generated from a file in my server) :)
    Alexis Priddy
    @yellowwebmonkey
    @paulaptel , you can do that in a template override. Just code it to check if the intro image exists and if not to show the image you want.
    paulaptel
    @paulaptel
    So I need to override com_content ?
    I'm not really confortable with PHP..
    Hayden Young
    @haydenyoung

    @paulaptel Correct. You can use the Template Manager to manage your overrides although you will need to edit the override to complete your feature.

    So maybe something like:

    IF content.images.length == 0 THEN
    show default image
    ELSE
    run normal code for displaying content images
    END IF
    this is not php obviously but that would be your logic

    Please, please, please post your Joomla support questions and answers on Joomla Stack Exchange. Not only is it a superior interface for expressing issues and advice, it archives the support in any easily navigated structure so that other people with the same issue can enjoy the same support instantly. This page should be used to discuss Git-related Joomla topics. When you want to give or receive general Joomla support, please join us at Joomla Stack Exchange.

    I'm posting it on Joomla Stack Exchange.
    Thanks @haydenyoung I'll search how to convert it on real PHP ;)

    Hi, I have just performed a manual installation of a Quickstart package on two sites. Both seem to be working fine, but the Control Panel of one of them is displaying an error message: "An error has occurred. 0 Call to a member function format() on null", followed by an unresponsive button that says "Return to Control Panel". I was wondering if anyone has any idea how to resolve this. Please refer to the following image.
    image.png
    @ViruppamBiz_twitter You can use the Module Position particle in the Layout view to create a new position.

    @andesappal
    Hi! How do I import an existing dataset into my project?
    Mick Harner
    @mickmackusa
    @andesappal Gitter is a perfect place to post questions when you want to discuss Joomla within the scope of Github. If you want to receive/give support regarding Joomla in terms of general use/development, there are better channels for that. Namely I recommend that you post on Joomla Forum or Joomla Stack Exchange (with my biased preference being on the latter). This way, any knowledge that is exchanged remains searchable for future researchers on a quest for related insights. By posting outside of these channels (on chronologically sorted threads), content gets buried under more recent posts, is relatively impossible to search for, and ends up under-utilising valuable contributions.

    @ZerooCool
    @andesappal The question is not too clear, do you want to import a new database completely, or just portions of data? The answer will not be the same, and, I guess the answer will be no, Akeeba is not the only way to go.

    Hi at all...;)...using Javascript Tabs from materialize, I find one unaxpected behavior...the .tabs-content size automaticaly set to style="height: 400" ... How can I disable/manage this behavior?...Thanks...
    Jonathan Bellieri
    @jonathanbellieri
    @jonathanbellieri I find a solution...I have much card on my page with this behavior, and the solution can be this: forEach instance, just before call M.Tabs.getInstance(elem), set elem._tabsCarousel.el.attributes[1].value = "height: 200px;";... have a nice day...;)

    Hi, I am using a Joomla component that has its own user registration process and user module. However, once user's profile is activated, they are only able to view their profile which has content/fields from the Joomla User modules/plugins. How can I ensure that only one of these user profile components is used?
