Because --version is reserved for .version syntax.

Thank you for the help @goatslacker
BTW, I just thought of parsing jshintrc file, actually theres no need of reading that line by line, which will encounter the commenting issues.
Instead, just read as simple json file, key-value pair.
Then, when load the configuration file, all these comments will be ignored automatically.
If that works then :+1:
is there any way to see the reason for each fix?
nope, it sounds like a good feature though
Any recommendations on whether to run fixmyjs before or after concatenation/minification?
def before, who cares what it looks like after?
Internet explorer cares? Linting !== Beautification?
like for sure before
after concatenation is fine
but you do not want to minify and then run
reviewing that diff would be a nightmare
Can fixmyJS use eslint ?
what do you mean?
i have eslint rules defined in a config file , is it possible to use that config file to format and fix issues like spacing , indentation?
ah, not at the moment no
Hi. I'm using jshint with Ember. And in several files i have warnings like 'Ember' is defined but never used. or 'DS' is defined but never used. The problem is that i can't set unused: false in my .jshintrc for all project and it's also a lot of work to manually set unused in every file where i have this warning. Maybe there is a way to set unused: false only for variables that i need?

I'm using grunt-fixmyjs and it runs through the files and says it fixed a bunch and then I run jshint and I still have errors in the same files. Is it supposed to save the fixes, do I need to run it with sudo?
Hi. I saw that the last commit has more than one year. is this project no longer maintained or really stable?
anyone using jshint + vim ?
Would any jshint contributors like to participate in Google Code-in as a mentor? http://coala.io has applied as an umbrella organisation, with a number of our upstream linters (e.g. jshint) and other code quality orgs mentoring a few tasks for their own tool. All you need to do is nominate a few of your bugs that you believe a talented high school student could do in a 3-7 days, and nominate to mentor them if they run into trouble or need to ask questions, and commit to do code review with 36 hrs of them submitting their PR . coala GCI mentor signup form Ping me if you want more info.
Where could I find the guides for jshint?
I want to know what this string jshint -e .json *.json apps mean?
