@AverageMarcus yup - I played around with https://github.com/whiteoctober/bauble a while back - trackingjs (just saw you stared it) looks way better.

@benfoxall any idea how to create your own image recognition from a pixel map?

using tracking.js? (I'm not sure if I understand your question)

I don't think I do either. Thats where ther problem lies :p
so using tracking.js you can create a custom object tracker. tracking.js provides your method with a massive pixel array and the height and width

I guess you then need to go through all the pixels and work out if something of interst it there?

If you're implementing your own tracker, then I guess you would have to - though would you not be wanting to use one of the in-built trackers?

The ones built in are colour or face

but as I don't have them with me now I was planning on tracking a playing card
yeah that'd work
just hoping i'd be able to do something a bit more fancy
don't think I understand enough though :(

Another option is AR-codes - https://github.com/jcmellado/js-aruco is pretty badass
that would make it a massive amount easier to find position and direction

That looks pretty cool

It could pretty easily be integrated into tracking.js too
