Ooh the audio on last night’s recording is a bit off for me - it keeps jumping back and repeating words https://youtu.be/CMrYvUGaz6Q?t=20m9s
Maybe my beard did break it

Whoa thats weird!
The colour is way off too
@benfoxall Whats the layout of the new room like? Would we be able to set up a better, central camera?

It looks like Adam was on fire last night: https://twitter.com/BaronVonLeskis/status/654447374165786624

That's what I was saying about the audio!

He just admitted to causing it!!!

Did you not have a mic next to the speaker? When Richard 2 spoke I couldn't hear him most of the time
Time to invest in some radio mics!
Ryan Brooks
@spikeheap
Oct 15 2015 08:57
they’re not that expensive
;)
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 08:57
You can get a lapel mic for <£30
yeah, we might have to do that then, I’d always assumed they were pricier

even if you're recording an audio track separately from the live stream, it'll be better for adding good audio to the recording later

It was a very expensive mic stand from what I saw 😉

Haha - so quiet in here yesterday afternoon - wake up this morning and beards!
@spikeheap beards don't break things they make everything awesome
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:30
I think his beard traps sound waves, and then releases them with a delay and reverb
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:30
:D
exactly
awesome
can I keep with my running theme where by I talk about something unrelated to the language of the overall chat
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:31
do it, also waffles.
I thought that was cool today - but sorry css
Rumyra @Rumyra heads back to oxrug to talk js
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:32
is there a scssoxford?
(I should know the answer to that)
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:32
I don't live anywhere so I know nothing
also I think sass (although amaze) can be a bit niche, and maybe just 'front end [enterplacehere]' would be enough to cover css & all it's preprocessors
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:34
pshhh

@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:34
:)
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:34
any other preprocessor is not worth talking about, lol LESS
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:34
lol postcss
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:34
lol Stylus
(though postcss is great combined with Sass!)
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:35
ok I am really starting a convo about this
are you using it?
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:35
yes
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:35
I looked and was all like 'oh tools' and thought I would look again when I had reason
Marcus Noble
@AverageMarcus
Oct 15 2015 09:35
I like less :unamused:
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:35
let me share my gulpfile for my lib-sass/postcss tasks
with this I can watch for sass changes, compile to css, and then run a bunch of cool postcss tasks to do vendor prefixes, px fallbacks for rem, and selector combining
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:37
oh interesting - see I do most of those with extends/mixins atm
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:37
I used to use mixins for that, but then maintenance overheads became too much
the autoprefixer stuff is cool, given the constantly sliding ruler of browsers to support, and their features
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:38
also AverageMarcus I have nothing against less - it's like what's your flavour
I really like that a lot of what pre processors is being considered by the actual CSS spec
Marcus Noble
@AverageMarcus
Oct 15 2015 09:39
Yeah!
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:39
I see omgmog - now that is cool
Marcus Noble
@AverageMarcus
Oct 15 2015 09:39
It'd be nice to see the same sort of life being put into the CSS spec as have done into JS/HTML of late
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:40
if I wasn't so determined to do a working cardboard/javascript talk, I'd do one on using gulp tasks to do css magic :D
Ruth John
@Rumyra
Oct 15 2015 09:40
yeh Bruce touched on this at FOWA - but I missed most of his talk :(
Max Glenister
@omgmog
Oct 15 2015 09:44
it's a good thing that countdown timer is still running on the FOWA London 2015 site...
