@rohitvvv
Its failing because our tests are not written for headless machines. Some minor tweaking and all shall pass.

Struggling to get the build to pass on Travis -Ci. Help wanted

@rohitvvv Hi iam going to work on Repository history

@rajmahendra
@kkasaraneni There is some conflict in your check pls check @rohitvvv
Rohit
@rohitvvv
@rajmahendra Go ahead and merge. I have a pull request to test travis builds. I will not merge it unless I see a green
Rohit
@rohitvvv
Modified the laf a little. There is a loading icon when the repository is changed in the accordion area. Please comment if it looks okay.
Help needed in running the travis tests.

@ObscureCode
Why are you guys using caspian? Modena looks nicer. Also, your toolbar needs fixed - you gotta anchor it to the top properly or else it will remain as a fixed size component when larger than prefWidth. Here you go: AnchorPane.leftAnchor="0.0" AnchorPane.rightAnchor="0.0" AnchorPane.topAnchor="0.0"
Rohit
@rohitvvv
@ObscureCode thanks for your inputs. We built the ui using javafx scene builder. And the level of maturity I have in fxml is slightly less. Thanks for your inputs. I will test and incorporate the changes. open up a ui issue on the repository if it's possible for you. Thanks

@rohitvvv @kkasaraneni I once shared this... https://blogs.oracle.com/geertjan/entry/news_from_the_modular_javafx1 developing on NetBeans Platform with JavaFX support.
Rohit
@rohitvvv
@rajmahendra Thanks for the links. Are we planning something for GitFx with mFX? I could not relate
Rohit
@rohitvvv
The more i am reading about cdi and afterburner by adam bien the more i am getting convinced we should be using it. I will setup an experimental branch on gitfx repository which will take care of tracking the new designs. We can discuss more in irc.
Rajmahendra
@rajmahendra
afterburner encourages to use CDI
Rohit
@rohitvvv
And that will help us in reusing views in the Android application. Most of the individual views will be decoupled. Like the accordion. The repository panel. The change history panel. Now these panel can be re organized on different form factors. Let alone the benefits of having them individually tested without much dependency is good design. The separation if concern can be achieved.
Rohit
@rohitvvv
What say?
Rajmahendra
@rajmahendra
I am not sure how far CDI/Afterburner work in Android but desktop is good :) we may need to use Weld or WebBean....
Rohit
@rohitvvv
Well in my understanding it should not be different. afterburner is just 3 additional classes. Also jfxpackager generates native builds(android-apk) for the project along with the jdk. WORA!!!!
Rajmahendra
@rajmahendra
What are the steps to port javafx to android ? any article ? without knowing those we dont know which will support and which will not support.
Buddha Jyothiprasad
@jbuddha
I happened to read an article sometime back on the same topic of javafx and android... here is the link... http://jperedadnr.blogspot.in/2015/03/javafx-on-mobile-dream-come-true.html
I was able to successfully and build and deploy.
Btw on play store download Ensemble8. I believe its a nice POC to believe that this can be done.
Thanks @jbuddha for the blog link

@/all @carldea https://github.com/asciidocfx/AsciidocFX won this year DukeChoiceaward! GitFX , eWidgetFX, FXPlayground are good candidates for future !
@carldea You definitely have to try for eWidgetFX or FXPlayground

Hi all, Is there any way I can get GitFx application in ready to use format (.exe, .dmg)??
without building from source
Rohit
@rohitvvv
Not yet. We are yet to release beta. However there is a project javafxports which will allow to package your application in native format. Fore more read http://gluonhq.com/open-source/javafxports/
Give it a try and also let us know how it works.
@/all I have checked in some code which shows diff of files when you expand the titled pane in the accordion history. Give it a try and please report issues.

Hi all, I would like to separate UI elements to .fxml file for better clarity in GitFx Controller class.
Rohit
@rohitvvv
@athiruban Sorry about the delay in response. Can you clarify what are you trying to do?
Have a look at afterburner framework
that will give you better separation of concern.
Athi Ruban
@athiruban
@rohitvvv No problem. I was thinking to further separate the UI code from controller and put it inside views. Thanks, I will go through afterburner framework. :smile:
Rohit
@rohitvvv
@athiruban Good to know. http://afterburner.adam-bien.com/
Push your afterburner code in experimental branch.
We will merge with master after stabililization
Athi Ruban
@athiruban
@rohitvvv I will do and let you know. :+1:

@rohitvvv
@athiruban Thanks and also let me know if you are running into any setup issues. Help is right away. :)
