@battermann
@julienrf When are you going to publish a new release?
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
No precise plan actually…
I can publish an RC2 with the cool HTTP thing
Leif Battermann
@battermann
I could use it in current project, where I reimplemented the HTTP stuff, it would be nice to be able to reduce our source code, though. But no hurry, really.
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
What do you need for a 1.0.0 ?
Leif Battermann
@battermann
really not much more so far. I’ve implemented a few more HTML tags, but this is marginal
Leif Battermann
@battermann
a small PR for input fields: julienrf/scalm#12
Leif Battermann
@battermann
@julienrf Have you ever tried to build pagination with scalm?
I can build it from scratch. Though I’m not sure whether I could reuse some stuff, maybe use a scala js lib for that, but I don’t know how that integrates with the elm arch?
What would be your approach?
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
No I haven’t!
Actually I don’t even know JS libraries that do that
To my experience pagination is hard to implement in a generic way
Leif Battermann
@battermann
AFAIK
... if the web service implements the right protocol like e.g. OData, there out of the box client solutions.
So in scalm you would implement it from scratch?
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
oh, it’s the first time I hear about OData, that looks interesting
I don’t have a precise answer for your question
if it’s valuable for you to reuse an existing JS lib, it can be wrapped in a scalm component
otherwise you could implement your OData consumer directly in scalm

hi there
I'm trying to run the "Counter" example, directly from Intellij
The code compiles but fails at runtime with Exception in thread "main" java.lang.Error: stub
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
Hello, these are web apps, I’m not sure what you mean by “running directly from intellij”
Manuel Leduc
@manuelleduc
I have no experience with scala-js so I am probably not doing something right :)
and but running it, I mean "right click -> run TestCounter"
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
These programs are intended to be run from a web browser
Manuel Leduc
@manuelleduc
awesome, that was the missing part, thanks
Leif Battermann
@battermann
My original idea was that commands are pure serializable data structures and that you pass an interpreter to the runtime implementation.
What do you think about that?
@julienrf remember that? It's kind of what I did here: https://github.com/battermann/pureapp
But for web apps, the scalm approach is much better, off course.
Anyway you asked for an example ;-)
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
ah, thanks!
interesting :)

I'm considering trying to use Scalm on a small site I run. I build and maintain a Scala game engine that follows the same architectural pattern (well, similar) and I'm a long time Elm admirer, so 'm comfortable with how this is supposed to work. I've sent in a PR to upgrade to everything to 2.13.5, and -if- I keep going, would probably want to carry on and upgrade to Scala 3. So my questions is: The repo's been quiet for 3 years, if I work on this does anyone want to be involved? For instance I could use some help with the CI build / release maintenance and also code reviews would be good... or have you all moved on? Either way is cool - just trying to gauge interest.
I've only just starting looking at it but I think it's a great little project that was ahead of it's time... but maybe, maybe it's time has come? 🙂
The other essential question is: How are you pronouncing Scalm? Scar-llmm? 😁
The small site I have in mind is just a test case btw. It's currently built in an old version of Elm but it would be better suited to Scala.js - if only there was a framework worth using...
Julien Richard-Foy
@julienrf
Hello! Thanks for your interest :)
I suggest moving the repository to your own github account/organization
I don’t have much time to allocate to it

@davesmith00000
Okey dokey, thanks for letting me know. :)
