Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
I agree
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
Also agree that priority 1 should be to release iOS version, could also provide useful feedback on things to change that would avoid rework also on Android version
krikrija
@krikrija
Okay. Then it sounds like as long as I don't estimate it taking several years, we should be fine. :)
I'm thinking a few months, just based on what I see. Having the iOS code as a working example will make my life a lot easier.
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
Ok, well, I will add you to the github repo then.
If you agree, @DavidHallgren ?
krikrija
@krikrija
awesome. David, if I need to get in touch with code questions, what's the best way?
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
I guess e-mail is the easiest way and then we can set up calls or chats when neeeded
I agree
krikrija
@krikrija
Perfect. What's your email?
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
I think invitation is send.
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
I will probably have some time in the near future to finish the last few things as well. If you have seen any bugs or other issues, feel free to add them to the repo and I will see what I can do
krikrija
@krikrija
do you guys use GitHub issues to keep track of bugs?
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
we used gitter, for low hanging bugs, I think
but also github so now and then
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
Yes, and github for few other, so far, but not been too many
Will you set up another repo for the android version then?
Will be interesting to see what it looks like since I have not done any Android work
krikrija
@krikrija
Sure, I can set up the Android repo, unless Kasper has to.
Also, the repo I have access to is euclidthegame-ipad, correct? Although the iPhone app is from the same repo, right?
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
I think you have permission to start an android repo.
does that work ?
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
Yes, late in development we decided to add iPhone support to the same version
Was surprisingly few changes that were needed
krikrija
@krikrija
Yes @kasperpeulen, that link works.
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
But also led to a few shortcuts/hacks that definitely could have been solved better if that was planned earlier
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
Cool, glad having you in the team :)
krikrija
@krikrija
Awesome, sounds good guys. Give me some time to look through the source and get an idea about the Android version.
thanks gents!
in a week or so, I should have a good sense of the scope and whether it's a good fit for me, given my schedule.
I'll be in touch over email.
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
sounds, good, let's move the gitter chat to the right room, now you have acesss: https://gitter.im/euclidthegame
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
OK, talk to you soon then
krikrija
@krikrija
Alright, take care guys.
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
cool, btw, one question, which language, is used for android development/ are you going to use ?
I'm not sure, if there is only 1 option for android as well.
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
I guess Java, but will leave that to the expert :)
krikrija
@krikrija
Java is the primary development language on Android. However, you can use C++ as well.
David Hallgren
@DavidHallgren
Will be back here later tonight most likely if there is anything already today
krikrija
@krikrija
What I would like to do, if it makes sense, is have certain code moved to C++, so that it can be shared by both applications.
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
Okay, well, great opportunity to learn some Java.
krikrija
@krikrija
I don't like coding things twice. :)
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
Haha, sure, if that is possible.
krikrija
@krikrija
i'll see if it's worth it.
okay, back to work for me.
take care guys.
Kasper Peulen
@kasperpeulen
bye, talk to you soon
