I'm going to try and get started on those benchmarks tomorrow. Just have to finish setting up my Linux partition. (Been having problems for past few days with proprietary Nvidia drivers + GTX970 causing segmentation faults with GTK+ applications.)

Do I implement the benchmarks in-file? Or do I put them a ./benchmarks directory?
With a filename like benchmarks.rs.

Id either place them in lib.rs inside the tests module or create a benchmarks directory
For the nvidia drivers, does it support the optimus switching? If so that may be the issue, you may need to use something like bumblebee which is what I have to do for my GTX 870

I'm on a desktop PC, not a laptop.

(4790K, GTX 970)
Lol that was meant to go underneath
Looks weird now ha-ha
It's strange though, Nvidia drivers + GTK was working fine up until I deleted my /etc folder on accident and had to reinstall.

Where would I find logs for GTK and/or Gnome?

Somewhere under /var/log

OK, I'll probably have a poke around and see what is breaking.
May as well post a forum thread too.

Try find /var/log -type f -name "*gnome*"
Or gtk instead of gnome

Could you also please list the things you want me to benchmark? Don't want to write useless benchmarks!
Good night for real though. :)
