    I don't know much about why that doesn't work for you. I tested in on the emulator and works as expected
    I'm afraid you'll need to check yourself :)

    what if i already did? how do i unchange it? :)

    I'm afraid you'll need to check yourself :)

    any ideas on how i could do that?

    Martín Fernández
    @pazos
    1) exit the program
    2) not really, that's the PITA part ;)

    you're very welcome :)

    anyone interested in audio support? specifically playing text-synchronized audio
    Frans de Jonge
    @Frenzie

    Not personally. I can definitely recommend listening to an audiobook in a foreign language while reading along to get a better handle on rhythms of speech and pronunciation, but I'm not sure I understand what there'd be to gain that wasn't already available 50 years ago in cassettes. :-) If you're losing track it's probably a sign that you need to go slower or easier.

    (You might need to install a dedicated player that remembers position and allows for adjusting playback speed like https://github.com/geigi/cozy.)

    PRs welcome of course… but tbh I'm not quite sure where you'd even start. Is there some kind of (EPUB3) standard for synced audio?

    @Frenzie
    @NiLuJe Alright, I just received a reply from GitLab. I've sent in some weird digitally signed document (I only had to type a couple of things… no signing with my eid or whatever) which should mean we should soon be good to go wrt our CI minutes.
    If I understand correctly I'll have to redo it once a year but it seems fair enough on their end that they want to gatekeep people unwilling to put in 10 minutes.

    @NiLuJe Should be good now, got a weird super generic email though

    In order to complete setting up your new subscription, we will need to link it to a group of your choosing. Please follow the instructions below.

    1. Create your GitLab.com account:
    2. Make sure you are a user of GitLab.com or register for a new account.

    (then make a group, etc…)

    @NiLuJe
    Huh. Cool!
    Reed G. Law
    @reedlaw
    @Frenzie yes. there is support in EPUB3 for synchronized audio
    https://www.w3.org/publishing/epub3/epub-mediaoverlays.html
    see for example
    https://www.readbeyond.it/audioebooks.html

    @NiLuJe
    Million dollar question: does anyone actually publishes stuff like that?
    (My understanding is that Amazon pretty much has the audiobook market cornered)
    And I understand the irony of the chicken-and-egg issue inherent in something like that: if no reading systems implement it, nobody's going to bother using the standard, and vice-versa ;)
    NiLuJe
    @NiLuJe
    (Might be interesting to dig-up who lobbied for including this in the standard, and who helped design it, for instance)
    (I smell Apple for FXL children's books?)
    Reed G. Law
    @reedlaw
    I haven't seen it in an ebook reader but there are dedicated apps such as http://software.sil.org/scriptureappbuilder/features/#audiosynchronization
    Frans de Jonge
    @Frenzie
    @NiLuJe I've been reading parts of The Phantom of the Opera while playing some guy on Librivox and the BNF has a lot of amazing quality vinyl rips which also includes a lot of vinyl audiobooks.
    I've never tried Audible. :P
    @reedlaw @NiLuJe Interesting, the DAISY consortium members seem to be organizations for the benefit of the blind and visually impaired, see https://daisy.org/about-us/membership/.
    Frans de Jonge
    @Frenzie
    PS This recording of Fantôme (it's decent enough) https://librivox.bookdesign.biz/book/103146
    NiLuJe
    @NiLuJe
    Yeah, the BNF is helming digitization projects in France, and they do that cross media ;)
    The "Media Overlay" bit is suspiciously empty everywhere :s
    roshavagarga
    @roshavagarga
    @NiLuJe Storytel is the only option in Bulgaria, Amazon never stepped foot here in any form, might be the same for other smaller countries.
    I've honestly never seen an epub with audio.

    Could someone clue me in on how to check if we opened a .cbz file?
    It's high time I finish koreader/koreader#6511
    That's pretty much the last thing I need I believe
    Frans de Jonge
    @Frenzie
    Otoh there should be a self.file or some such available.
    NiLuJe
    @NiLuJe
    Or something from DocumentRegistry maybe?
    maybe the place to put it but nothing there atm http://koreader.rocks/doc/modules/document.documentregistry.html
    Galunid
    @Galunid
    Thanks, util.getFileNameSuffix(self.ui.document.file) does the trick
    Galunid
    @Galunid
    I just noticed that v2020.09 is not available on F-droid
    @NiLuJe @Frenzie
    Not sure which one F-droid pulls from, but http://ota.koreader.rocks/koreader-android-fdroid-latest is outdated too
    Frans de Jonge
    @Frenzie
    Yes, that's where it gets the latest version. A victim of the out of disk space, grmbl
    I'll update it manually.
    git rev-list --count HEAD
    7706
    Alright, I think fdroid should pick up on it automatically sometime within the next few days now.
    Not sure how frequently they check the link.

    Hi. Is lack of pocketbook nightly builds in the recent three days a known issue?
    Frans de Jonge
    @Frenzie

    Nope, maybe more lack of space.

    https://gitlab.com/koreader/nightly-builds/-/jobs

    ^ but you can always grab the build from there if desired
    Piotrek Marciniak
    @ptrm
    Neat, thanks!
