    @rexmakro
    So, by now it stays as it is, with no way to right-click.
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    @rexmakro no I meant install one of the previous versions of goodix (maybe one or two versions ago) and also install the version 2.3 voodooi2c kexts over the ones you have (don’t forget to fix your config as well as the older voodooi2c kexts had different structures). Once you have touch working on an older kext you need to re-check the box to fix scrolling again
    The goodix version you mentioned doesn’t work with Big Sur or newer due to the new way kexts work in it
    If that still doesn’t work, you would have to do everything I mentioned but also roll back to Catalina
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    So if you want to make it easy on yourself you could either replace your EFI with the MiniBook release 1.3.1 or copy the goodix kext along with all the i2c kexts and mirror the kext structure in the config and that should get touch working the way you want..
    Just a warning though.. that old EFI may not work with your battery since battery handling was different back then.. for that reason I recommend copying the files to your current EFI and updating the config
    balopez83
    @balopez83

    @rexmakro Also I know you mentioned you copied the EFI from the MiniBook. Did you leave the ssdt-fan.aml, ssdt-ACPI.aml, and ssdt-keys.aml patches installed? If so you need to disable them immediately as they can damage your computer.. those ACPI patches fix problems in the EC chip programming specific to the MiniBook but on yours might actually cause serious problems.. after removing them and disabling the related config code and patches follow the next steps exactly:
    1) boot to windows and then shut down completely.
    2) Boot to macOS
    3) listen for your fan to speed up or slow down on its own..
    if you don’t hear it do some things that will make it spin up to make sure it’s working on its own.

    So long as the fan works on its own you’re good. It should work on its own! The MiniBook was the only one that I know of with a bad fan system in macOS

    @rexmakro
    @balopez83 OK done! I did boot with the 1.3.1 with Fan ssdt, etc disabled. Touch works, right click works, but scrolling does not work. Instead, if I try to scroll down a page, anything under my finger is simply selected and marked blue. Maybe I have to try another version of EFI.
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    @rexmakro I can’t remember exactly how scrolling worked on that EFI, it is either press and hold then scroll or try two finger scrolling
    rexmakro
    @rexmakro
    @balopez83 Ok. I 'll try to experiment a little. Do you think that I can extract only the touch related files from 1.3.1 EFI and merge them with my own Config? If so, do I have to copy only the kexts or do I have to also copy the ssdt's?
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    @rexmakro yes you can. the touch ssdt is the same so no change there, you just need to copy the goodix kext and the voodooi2c kexts and update the kext config in the config file
    rexmakro
    @rexmakro
    @balopez83 Thanks!! One last question. Does double click work with the 1.3.1 EFI?
    or I miss something...
    As for scrolling, looks like it is a 3 fingers' scroll up or down.
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    I think double click was slow in the old goodix kext, meaning you have to tap slowly or fast, I can’t remember exactly.. basically each version has some issues but you will just have to decide which works best for your use..
    rexmakro
    @rexmakro
    @balopez83 Thank you!! I'll try to experiment a little, but things look to point out the right direction now :-).
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    @rexmakro glad to hear

    @karle228
    hi, I have a question, will it work in gsx1680 / mssl1680? thank you
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    If it is a goodix touch panel then likely. You may need to add the panel identifier to the goodix kext plist and it will of course likely require you to edit your dsdt or create a new ssdt with OpenCore config patching. You can find instructions for that on the voodooi2c GitHub pages

    @lazd
    lol battery number two is a gigantic puffy fire hazard mess
    hatran0884
    @hatran0884
    Poor you
    @kostaskas heard from Chuwi forum, it seems your unit failed again
    Is it true?
    Kostas
    @kostaskas
    @hatran0884 yes my friend, now it's the Power Management Chip., I have bought a part for repairing but it's difficult to solder myself and I can't find any technician with knowledge to replace it in my place, so I will sell it for parts unfortunately
    hatran0884
    @hatran0884
    So it means no one here has a working unit except me?
    @balopez83 is there any update on the opencore bootloader fixing the lagging boot menu?
    Larry Davis
    @lazd
    Mine works! I had an extra battery :)
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    Mine is dead as it has the defective power management chip and will be selling mine for parts too.. oddly the computer itself actually still works but I would have to manually charge the battery by pulling it out in order to power up. Maybe I will try to make a special plug to charge the battery directly or just remove the battery and run it another way..
    @hatran0884 unfortunately since my computer is effectively useless with the defective power management chip I have not worked on this project at all. I suspect the latest version of OC will fix the lag since they have made substantial improvements since the last MiniBook EFI was released. Since I can't test the EFI, I can't update the MB EFI as I might introduce problems and would not be able to troubleshoot.
    hatran0884
    @hatran0884
    @balopez83 do you have a link showing any update of OC? I can try to update myself
    This is very bad hearing this news from you
    Larry Davis
    @lazd
    yeah that's really sad @balopez83. i got $100 USD on a new minibook OR other touchscreen enabled laptop if you have your sights set on a new project. you contributed so much of your time to this and i had a ton of fun working on drivers (my first one ever!) thanks to your efforts, so i'd like to kick some $ back your way so you can do some more minibooking!
    THEDEVIOUS1
    @THEDEVIOUS1
    @lazd haven't been on here in over year probably but still have the link on auto open and just wanted to say what a great gesture that was for u to be willing to contribute to my minibook bro @balopez83 buying another device...wish I could convince him to come with me over to GPD and get the pocket 3(hopefully the n6000 version is hackintoshable) but i believe he's having too much fun with his one mix yoga 4. SURE hope nothing bad happens to it also(hopefully he know thats just a joke because I want him to switch)...lol
    Larry Davis
    @lazd
    Cheers man! I appreciate all the hard work :)
    So what is the latest macOS we’ve hacked onto one of these little laptops? And any of them have working touchscreens?
    THEDEVIOUS1
    @THEDEVIOUS1
    All of them actually...The tiger lake chips are able to be hacked BUT graphics acceleration doesn't work which isn't nearly as bad as one would think. With that said...the one mix yoga, xplayer(i own/owned both but full disclosure the latter is stuck in portrait) both have working touch & I assume the win max(which i assume can be if there isn't an already existing repo for it) should have the ability to as well. The pocket 3 price is so nice that I'm believe basically precommitted to purchase but MAY go through with my preorder of the steamdeck JUST to see if it can run mac...think those are the only real contenders at the moment though
    hatran0884
    @hatran0884
    Yes, pocket 3 is really attractive, but the price of 1000 usd would be a consideration
    I have a gpd win max with big sur but opencore is not optimized fully
    THEDEVIOUS1
    @THEDEVIOUS1
    @hatran0884 only $650 for n6000 & honestly with it being a bit more powerful than the 8100 chip in the minibook AND having owned a tiger lake (actually typing this on my OMY4 as we speak) the premium on the extra power isn't worth it UNLESS you're a gamer.. That's in my opinion of course
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    @lazd that is a really nice gesture and I really appreciate that! It would be nice to be able to get back into this though it might be a few months before things slow down enough for me to put much focus back on these hack projects. I know without @THEDEVIOUS1 pushing me and making me rethink some things, I probably would have given up a ton of times, especially on that fan lol. And of course @lazd, without that touch driver it just wouldn’t have been as much fun.
    As for projects @THEDEVIOUS1 is right, I do really like the One Mix 4 though that’s just more being content and not having as much time to work on hacking. With all the talk about the new GPD, I could be persuaded to look at it in the near future lol
    I definitely wouldn’t mind getting back into this though now devices are going to be so much tougher unless someone can figure out how to port the Linux TL driver so maybe we can get graphics acceleration….
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    As I have time, I will try to find a way to get power in to the MB and maybe I can get the EFI updated so things get a bit smoother for you all. At a minimum I might be able to update it and have one of you all test it and see if it works as a workaround.
    balopez83
    @balopez83
    @hatran0884 if you want to give updating a try, you can go here: https://github.com/acidanthera/OpenCorePkg for the latest OC though be very careful updating. To make things easier; install ProperTree and use it to make the initial config file and then you can get away with OpenCore Configurator to copy the settings from the old config to new one. Never use the old config on a new OC version. I believe I will eventually update the EFI though it will likely take me a while before I have time to even attempt it.
    hatran0884
    @hatran0884
    Thank you @balopez83 . I will try it
    Larry Davis
    @lazd
    hey y'all, do we know if the GPD P2 Max 2022 is working 100% with this repo? https://github.com/Azkali/GPD-P2-MAX-Hackintosh
    specifically, this model https://gpd.hk/gpdp2max2022
    THEDEVIOUS1
    @THEDEVIOUS1
    i definitely doubt it due to it being to totally different chipsets BUT it may not take much to make it work...specifically adding the cpu & gpu spoof info. i plan on attempting to get it going once my pocket 3 arrives since the version i ordered uses the same cpu but unfortunately that may not be for another week or 3...smh
    Kostas
    @kostaskas
    i'm most worried about quality, after the minibook it's hard for me to try these tiny netbooks, but they are cool together with minibook X
    Larry Davis
    @lazd
    totally agree. MiniBook's quality is just awful... the P2 Max looks really nice, but whoa, the price...
