Most important concern for me at the moment is a very limited testing on Linux and zero testing on Mac. If anyone joins to help with this, thank you!

Just discovered tabr via r-bloggers. I'll try it out on Mac OSX later today. Thanks for the package!

Sweet, thank you! I appreciate it. This is also my first time using gitter. Welcome! :)

The only testing I've done on Linux was on Travis CI. I installed LilyPond on the platform prior to the package build and it appeared to have no trouble when it got to the testthat unit tests that made actual calls to tab. I'm going to add a richer set of such calls. But for now it seems to work there. But I can only guess if it will work equally well on other people's Linux installations.

I'm new to gitter too (being a social media dinosaur / curmdugeon) but it looks useful. I should be able to test tabr on Mac El Capitan and High Sierra. Don't have a Linux box at the moment.

I'm not too worried about Linux. Travis CI is probably sufficient, though as more people do test it out, all the better.

I updated the code for multiple voice support. It actually works properly now (based on testing the common two-voice case for fingerstyle guitar). An example vignette has been added that uses two voices. More than two voices is something I'm not currently focused on. With this and other changes, recommend reinstall package from GitHub.

Just pushed a significant update adding more functions, improving others. There are now convenience functions for basic MIDI to LilyPond/PDF output support: midily and miditab analogs to lilypond and tab. I'm still calling this v0.1.0 since I never issued an initial tabr release yet on GitHub (only tweeted about it). I'm sticking with v0.1.0 until I'm ready for a minimally acceptable CRAN release (hopefully soon). Just want to get more feedback from users first though. Take away message: if you are experimenting with tabr make sure you have pulled down the latest from GitHub, which will still be 0.1.0 for now.
There are also some new key signature helpers. See ?keys.

You can now transpose the music staff relative to the tab staff for non-guitarists, when the tab staff presentation is relative to capo fret for example but you want the music staff to be literal.
Matt Leonawicz
@leonawicz
Fixed a bug in transpose. It now works with all combinations of notes, chords, rests and silent rests.
Matt Leonawicz
@leonawicz
Fixed a bug where alternate tuning notation at the beginning of a tab staff was displaying backwards vertically with respect to the staff lines.

@leonawicz
Added content to repeats vignette and track/score vignette. Fixed a bug related to rendering a score that combines multi-voice and single voice tracks.
Matt Leonawicz
@leonawicz
Added content to track/score vignette and engraving/rendering vignette. Fixed bug related to use of chord sequences without chord chart when calling lilypond function with such a score object.

v0.1.2 now on CRAN. Use github [v0.1.2.9000 ] for devel version.
Matt Leonawicz
@leonawicz
v0.2.0 on CRAN.
Matt Leonawicz
@leonawicz
v0.3.0 on GitHub. Publishable as is but I'm going to continue adding some more functions and adding arguments to make some existing ones more versatile before the next CRAN release.
