Please do
sunbx
@sunbenxin
i build lime-qml on fedora 24, and succeeded. But failed to run by "panic: runtime error: cgo result has Go pointer"
sunbx
@sunbenxin
got it #541
Francisco Manno
@fmanno
HI. I raised a pull request to fix the data races in the packages tests. But then I realized I didn't create an issue for it. Should I?
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Nah
Francisco Manno
@fmanno
Ok I'll create another one in the hopes of fixing the remaining issue of the failing TestWatchDir test in the packages. But I'd like to do it after this one is solved and then we should see the builds in Travis passing. Hopefully
I think I've found a way to solve it. But needs reviewing
Steven Roose
@stevenroose
did this project die?
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
No, we just are busy. I'm actually planning on putting some work into LimeText in the next few weeks.
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
So the gopy implementation works fine as it is, and although it could use a bit more work, I'm tired of messing with it. Should we just merge the PR?
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
I think so
looks good to me
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Travis is unhappy :(
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
that makes a change
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Hrm. Python 3.5 isn't available on the Mac build?
There is probably a brew command to install it
Also, what is with Bountysource screwing up all the issues?
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
screwing up how?
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Look here for example: limetext/lime-qml#47
But many, if not most of the issues have broken formatting
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
Hrmmm
I'm inclined to just drop Bountysource, since it doesn't seem to work as an incentive :)
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
I think it works great. It's just not enough money :P
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
:)
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
I mean, for some of the issues it's less than $1 an hour of work
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
Yeah
We have some money donted to the org which we could put up as bounty on issues
There are just too many issues to choose from
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Like, I've gotten it to work on Windows, pretty easily actually. Cross compiling even works quite well, with MXE
I also have a Go/QML terminal emulator which works okay for simpler terminal sequences, with fun features like 256 color support that would be easily integrated into LimeText
And sidebar tree stuff is mostly done IIRC
I've just been stuck trying to fix qml-go
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
Great job you're doing on it, too
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Thanks
I'm just trying to work up the energy to write some GC tests to make sure GC is working.
And I suspect GC won't work properly with gopy
gopy in general just doesn't have enough tests. Coverage is terrible.
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
Stuff we inherited, yeah
Not that the test coverage is amazing anywhere else...
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Haha, true.
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
BTW, I think the issue with Python 3.5 is that we need to run brew link or something similar
http://braumeister.org/formula/python3 implies that 3.5 should be available
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
we're not actually installing python3, which would be problematic
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Okie dokie. I will add that.
Felix Laurie von Massenbach
@erbridge
just brew install python3 should do it
sorry, brew update then brew install python3
looks like you got it
Matt Peterson
@ricochet1k
Crossing my fingers...
Might need oniguruma...
