Hi-
I'm a research assistant for the Democracy Defense Fund, working on sourcing startups and nonprofits for small grants. Do any of you know of funding-constrained projects working to push liquid democracy in the US? I think we're stuck with grantmaking to American entities at the moment, but good projects abroad are worth mentioning too.
Thanks
David Ernst

Hi Connor, thanks for posting
Yes, I have lots of details for you, will follow up 1-on-1
FYI channel— new blog post: "How to move past a two-party system" https://blog.liquid.vote/2017/03/06/how-to-move-past-two-parties/

@all: Big news! An initial version of the Liquid app (native iOS) is now ready!
Still a lot more polish work necessary before going for a wide release, but if your interested in trying out this first functional version, I’d love to get it into your hands and hear any suggestions or criticisms that come up for you :smile:

Hi Jon

@Jon-Envisioneer
I wonder who are the target customers of Liquid Democracy.
David Ernst
@dsernst
Yeah so I think any group with a formal democratic structure could benefit from liquid democracy. As an upgrade for their existing direct or electoral systems
Our focus for this project is on upgrading our public legislatures... in particular the US Congress
But we have a 95% ready to launch version for the City of San Francisco board of supervisors

Hey so there's a new Liquid slack that's starting to gain some good steam instead of this Gitter chatroom
Easier to form channels, have 1-on-1 conversations, and maybe a little bit better UI?

I'd love to join, but dat slack fatigue. I sort of can't handle more slack teams
David Ernst
@dsernst
Yeah, I know the feeling

Do you plan on deprecating this medium?
David Ernst
@dsernst
Yes, it hasn't been used for a while anyway

@gvilarino
