@rayj00 for me this sounds like your cpu is at max and your memory leak is just buffers piling up cause the box you use cant handle the encoding task
Memory really is not that important in a live workflow
If everything works well buffers just fill and empty if you see your memory usage rising over time it usually is an indicator that something is not working right. Could be your resource management but it also could be a bug preventing those buffers to be cleared
I think given the micro instance you are using it is your resource mangement
rayj00
@rayj00
When the mem usage reaches around 61M free, it then increases back up to 75M free. It then fluctuates between ~61 and ~75 for the remainder of the broadcast.

@f1l1b0x
Whats your cpu saying?
rayj00
@rayj00
I don't have the VPS running right now. I have bigger fish to fry. Trying to get LXD containers to recognize my LAN.

@f1l1b0x
Make sure your cpu stays below 80% if it peaks up your encoding might already get stressed to much and will drop frames

I am working on a project that needs live streaming integration with blockchain . When i googled the matter the first thing that came up was livepeer.org .Can anyone help ?Atleast can anyone point me a file or package that contains the implementation or related code . Thanks in advance
rayj00
@rayj00
..and welcome to Livepeer!!

@naveen-nrj
@rayj00 Thanks

@rayj00
Feel free to ask questions. People tend to jump in and out of the gitter, but eventually your questions will be answered...so be patient.

@naveen-nrj
@rayj00 I got into github but there are so many files. Do you happen to know where the implementation of live streaming with blockchain has been done?
rayj00
@rayj00
Currently Livepeer in still officially in development. However, there is a test network using the Etherium Rinkeby. Please read the docs.
Eric Tang
@ericxtang
Hi @naveen-nrj can you describe your usecase a little more?
rayj00
@rayj00
@ericxtang Why would https://faucet.rinkeby.io/ tell me I have to wait 49 hours until the next allowance? That is not really acceptable. Or is rinkeby broke?
Eric Tang
@ericxtang
Lol @rayj00 how much eth do you need? I’ve got 5 sitting in my wallet, happy to send you some.

@ericxtang Not really sure. How about enough for a couple hours of broadcasting?
Here's the acct: 0x748F2902E8C18FDD9a23199937E81A00eC282b65
Eric Tang
@ericxtang
Just sent you 1eth. You can deposit 0.01 eth and should be able to broadcast for days with the current price.
rayj00
@rayj00
You da man!!! Tnx!

@ericxtang What the heck is the equivalent of .01?
right now the balance is 999718423999999987

@ericxtang:matrix.org Check out https://www.myetherwallet.com/helpers.html
Eric Tang
@ericxtang
btw I think that’s way more than enough for broadcasting.
rayj00
@rayj00
I just went with 1000
Now 999496847999998987
Weird...
Eric Tang
@ericxtang
transactions cost gas, so the balance will go down as you are interacting with the blockchain
rayj00
@rayj00
I'm pumped!
Seen the same issue I seen yesterday......first attempt to broadcast froze after 10 sec or so. 2nd attempt going strong.
Getting dark out...
rayj00
@rayj00
I have 8Gb of ram allocated to the host. It's free memory is showing 4.9G but the Container free -h is showing 7.2G free? That's weird.
Well, I accomplished what I set out to do. Broadcast from an LXD container. Tomorrow I try two containers!
Good night all!

Is there any good tutorial for how to setup Livepeer on a VPS server to test RTMP stream similar to the link above?
Does the Livepeer provide any WebRTC load balancing between peers in the Chrome browser?
Chris Hobcroft
@chrishobcroft
Hi @AMARAKA_twitter I think @rayj00 does some stuff with VPS.
No p2p cdn functionality in livepeer today but it is coming
rayj00
@rayj00
@AMARAKA_twitter Hello. There is really not much you need to do get a VPS up and running Livepeer. What I do is install Ubuntu 16.04.4 server, update && upgrade. Then get the latest Livepeer executable from https://github.com/livepeer/go-livepeer/releases Untar the file, change directory to livepeer_linux and run the following command: ../livepeer -rinkeby -v 6
rayj00
@rayj00
@AMARAKA_twitter Forgot one little thing. Before you broadcast, you need to get you some ether. Use twitter and send a tweet with yout Eth address in the body of the tweet,
then Go to https://faucet.rinkeby.io/ and insert the tweet url you just did and choose 18.75 ethers. Let me know when you have completed these steps.
@AMARAKA_twitter You can also start here: http://livepeer.readthedocs.io/en/latest/
rayj00
@rayj00
@AMARAKA_twitter Livepeer does not support native WebRTC at this time. However you can always use OBS to broadcast a webrtc stream, into the livepeer network. I'm not sure about load balancing? I think Livepeer does load balancing by default, @ericxtang ?

@naveen-nrj
@ericxtang I want to implement a reactive blockchain client that is based on a live streaming API as most of them use JSON-RPC which is often a push/pull one.
I came to know that livepeer uses a livestreaming API on blockchains so I want to see the implementation . Can you help me? @ericxtang
