    Hew Ingram
    @hewIngram
    :wave:
    I love that this is your first LNUG @nano-monkey - in our defence… normally less tech issues
    Clare Lindley
    @clare-lindley
    Ah lol @hewIngram I've been to a few in London but I was always too busy to go consistently! It's ironic that now we are all remote, I can make it once more! :D
    Hew Ingram
    @hewIngram
    I’ve had that with a few meetups friends run - the upside of remote-ness
    Clare Lindley
    @clare-lindley
    Yes!
    mattbis
    @mattbis

    Clare Lindley
    @clare-lindley

    tracktalents
    @tracktalents_gitlab
    Hi, all ... Anyone know about Tracktalents a leading Applicant Tracking Software for large and small companies to track right candidate for their company?
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    hello @/all - it’s the 4th Wednesday of the month next week - we are planning to meet remotely again. Let me know if you have a lightning talk, or longer to contribute. @chucksellick - fancy giving a lightning talk on how you built the “Saturday Night Lockdown” site?
    Hew Ingram
    @hewIngram
    That would be AWESOME
    Michael McLean
    @mcleanmichael
    @admataz thanks again for the shoutout in the podcast mate, also nicely hosted @simonmcmanus I will make sure that one of our Engineers at Unmind get's in touch with their topic for the 4th as we should be able to have someone share some insights into life at Unmind and our tech
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    @/all - I’m calling off the remote meetup this Wednesday - things haven’t come together for it - we will plan something and resume LNUG soon - meanwhile do keep the conversation going here and on twitter.
    Please do be in touch if you have any thoughts or feedback.
    @mcleanmichael - that sounds great - please put them in touch - it will be great to hear from them when we do meet.

    hi, Just wondering if you have considered using hopin.to for meetups?

    It's a new platform currently in early access. The company is based out of London.

    Yesterday I attended a RunningRemote.com conference on Hopin. It was brilliant. Unlike most other tech, it's designed for the purpose of virtual meetups/conferences.

    I just mention it because I thought it worked great.

    Cheers

    Matt

    @admataz
    Hi @Insp_people_twitter - currently we’re using a home-grown solution which works pretty well. But - that sounds interesting - I’ll take a look at your product.
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    Good morning @/all - so it's another week of kitchen table offices - how is everyone coping with lockdown? I'm missing our pizza and beer fuelled fourth wednesday buzz. We're needing to adapt the way we work as a community. LNUG is still open for talk proposals - and we're looking at ways to make this online-only meetup experience as good and valuable as ever. If you're interested to help, or have ideas - please let me know.
    Thomas Ankcorn
    @Ankcorn
    Hi @admataz, I'm okay thanks. I'm missing the wednesday buzz too. I got a nasty burn on my arm try to make pizza whilst too buzzed.
    How are you?
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    ouch
    the perils of home working
    it's normal Monday morning focus issues here - so many interesting things happening, compared to the list of glitches and fixes required for the current Jira ticket
    Thomas Ankcorn
    @Ankcorn
    Any noteworthy nodejs gotchas causing a glitch?
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    I wish it were so interesting.
    It's that polish phase of the project, day before release, and tickets from PO labeled "UX improvements"
    I sound like I'm complaining - I'm actually not
    mattbis
    @mattbis
    giant jira - seems to always slow down - live script is interesting I had completely forgotten about it...
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    so things are coming together for a May meetup - a few talk proposals coming in - and video platform sorted. watch this space for details
    meanwhile how are you @/all ? Is anyone finding they have more time for learning new technologies under lockdown?
    Thomas Ankcorn
    @Ankcorn
    I havent found the time or energy to learn any new technologies :D
    D:
    Stefano Vozza
    @svozza
    i’ve two kids, not a hope lol
    Thomas Ankcorn
    @Ankcorn
    have your kids learnt any new technologies during lockdown? got to get them started on node early otherwise they might decided that php is the way to go
    Stefano Vozza
    @svozza
    haha
    i was actually teaching the young fella python before this started
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    the kids of today
    my young ones love coding too - it gives them such a thrill
    now they are taking over. my 12yo daughter enrolled in a 9 day hackathon called "teens in AI" and they went off and built apps and things. I'm totally blown away
    Adam Davis
    @admataz
    @/all - we gathering #nodestories - would be fun if we all could fill a board of these for the next meetup: https://twitter.com/LNUGorg/status/1258336380368928768
    Simon McManus
    @simonmcmanus
    I've been playing with using es modules unbundled in the browser, removing tech rather than adding new tech :) It works nicely, not so well with node though :(
    Simon McManus
    @simonmcmanus
    For the next podcast episode, we are going to look at "Finding a Job during a Pandemic" - We're going to look at what's going on with the node Jobs market at the moment. Who is still hiring and how to get a job in this climate. If you have questions, or things you would like us to investigate, please send them my way.
