my young ones love coding too - it gives them such a thrill
now they are taking over. my 12yo daughter enrolled in a 9 day hackathon called "teens in AI" and they went off and built apps and things. I'm totally blown away
I've been playing with using es modules unbundled in the browser, removing tech rather than adding new tech :) It works nicely, not so well with node though :(

For the next podcast episode, we are going to look at "Finding a Job during a Pandemic" - We're going to look at what's going on with the node Jobs market at the moment. Who is still hiring and how to get a job in this climate. If you have questions, or things you would like us to investigate, please send them my way.

In this context I’d be interested in a section on entrepreneurship - potential alternatives for keeping some income to finding a job if it doesn’t work out.

ahh yes, I like that - will see what I can get in there. kinda related - I found this the other day. Government projects are legally obliged to consider bids from voluntary/community and social enterprise orgs which would include LNUG I think. Lots of details about bidding in here: https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/vcses-a-bidders-guide-to-working-with-government

Hey @simonmcmanus - that is a very interesting doc - just scanning through it - it would be interesting to see how LNUG can help people get work through this kind of channel - I'm sure we could be considered a community social enterprise - we may need to do some organisational paperwork to make that more clear - and offer some accountability to our community (thinking constitution, nominated office bearers etc) I'm involved with another group focused on youth and coding education, and we've just been through a process of making the organisation more of an official entity with a constitution etc - if anyone's interested in taking LNUG to this level - let's chat.

@Ankcorn Yup, Quasar (although, I haven't used it in a real project yet). The main things I learnt were around audio processing tho.
