Hi @did. For when you get back from holiday I think there are issues with wagon deploy still.

I create a new site in a local locomotive engine and deploy. I get this message. PS Was assuming you were on holiday so let me finish this blurg and you can take a look when convenient.

I’m on “holliday” but I’ve got a few minutes now
what files do you have in your stylesheets folder?

This is fresh. There is only one application.css file. There is however a .scss file there which may be a cause somehow.

delete one of them :-)

Additionally I am still having issues with image files not being picked up properly. You may remember this problem for a while back.

hmmm, remember that we fixed that issue

I may in the short term move the scss file but if that is the problem it would seem that file suffixes aren’t being processed properly.

well, I’ve got an application.scss and it’s correctly served and pushed

Yes, I thought it was fixed. Not sure this is the exact same. Trouble is it is very hard to track what is being pushed where.
So here’s a question. When a site is deployed it pushes the content/assets etc into the engine at public/sites/someweirdchecksum/…. yes
in here there should be one top level folder per deploy. yes?

it uses carrierwave to store the uploaded files
so if you take a look at the uploaders folder in the Engine, you will know where the files go :-)

@scoobyclub

Is carrierwave used for all filetypes? What references are used to know if a file has changed?
Didier Lafforgue
@did
Mar 27 2016 21:32
carrierwave detects if a file has been changed or not

This seems to be where my site is deployed ( assuming i can attach this screenshot ).

This is local at the moment to my machine, not to S3. I have an engine running on it that I deploy to initially.

What I'm trying to do is understand how deploy works, what it puts where such that I can understand where to look when it goes wrong.In the deploy above the theme css is completely missing. It looks like bare HTML. I have other occasions when old files seem to be there but new files aren’t pushed. Even though the wagon deploy says they have.

hmmm
I’ve never experienced such issue

ThemeAssets seems to be where it happens most. But as I say that initial deploy with the application.css is odd.

you need to look at the logs of the engine
what are your missing files?

I’m sure it can’t happen for most people ( you would be snowed under otherwise :-) ) so it may be something I am doing wrong in setting up file hierarchy or something just glitchy.

I believe you
it’s just that I need to get specific case to investigate more

I am going to let you get back to holiday while I dig a bit deeper now ( and perhaps a bit more carefully ) into what’s going on. Because of the hierarchy that deployed sites use ( ie not intuitive ) it makes it tricky. Hopefully I can come back with something more concrete and specific.
