    wow this is fun
    @jonlemmon you think we should add this to our github ?
    Jon Lemmon
    @jonlemmon
    @s01us yeah, I think it'd be a good idea... it's just so accessible. Seems way more practical than an IRC server
    James Kiesel
    @gdpelican
    This is great!
    mix irving
    @mixmix
    totally magic huh
    I saw it on another github repo as a nice inviting link next to travis build badge

    let me mention #1756 (sweet autocomplete!)

    hows about loomio/loomio#1759
    #1759

    @cantonic
    wondering if there is a loomio/gitter integration i googled both names and landed here. Hi everybody :) glad you like gitter as much as we do
    mix irving
    @mixmix
    we're interested in spinning it up @cantonic , it's totally gorgeous huh?
    let's make it even more accessible : loomio/loomio#1825
    Can Edremitoglu
    @cantonic
    @s01us it indeed is. We are using it for a customer project since the early beta and we don’t want to miss it. I am currently trying to convince diaspora to use it ;) btw: what do you think about a loomio integration in the activity feed?
    mix irving
    @mixmix
    can you show me an example of integration so I can understand what you're meaning @cantonic ? and what were you thinking in terms of loomio
    Steve Phillips
    @elimisteve
    @cantonic Like having notifications of (and links to) new activity in a Loomio group flow into here? That'd be cool, and is something that you could probably build with the Loomio API
    Can Edremitoglu
    @cantonic
    oh sorry, missed to answer. exactly that’s what I mean. There is a TravisCI webhook integration for example and some more https://github.com/gitterHQ/services
    Can Edremitoglu
    @cantonic
    pretty quiet here :) just wanted to ask if there is a loomio api or plans on it? couldn’t find anything
    mix irving
    @mixmix
    Yeah it is pretty quiet. We're looking into the best ways to support open source community at the moment. We've been building an API for the angular frontend which is well underway now.
    from there we're going to start working on integrations with DemocracyOS, Cobudget, and perhaps slack?
    we'll see
    @gdpelican is moving into open-source coordination
    Can Edremitoglu
    @cantonic
    thx @s01us . I might not have time to implement it since my desk is full of tasks currently which have higher priority at the moment.
    James Kiesel
    @gdpelican

    Hey @cantonic, yes, there is an API well underway, and it'll be a pretty core feature of Loomio going forward. As Mix mentioned, we've agreed to do several integrations with other platforms in the pretty-near future, so work will continue on making the API flexible and accessible. :sparkles:

    Once it's a bit more mature, there'll be a chunk of work around documenting and publicizing the API for more widespread use, but it should be useable now if you're an early adopter type.

    denjell
    @denjello
    I accidentally stumbled on the api thanks to Airbrake. I don't know where to post it, because it is now an .ods file. Here would just be rude, but I guess I'll put a copy of what i have over at gist.github.com
    Steve Phillips
    @elimisteve
    @gdpelican the API's auth is still cookie-based, correct?
    James Kiesel
    @gdpelican
    That's correct, although we do have some token auth in place for replying to comments by email. Shouldnt be too difficult to extend once we get there.
    Steve Phillips
    @elimisteve
    those integrations do sound exciting, btw. Hadn't really heard of DemocracyOS before
    @gdpelican thanks
    James Kiesel
    @gdpelican
    :grin:
    Steve Phillips
    @elimisteve
    Hey guys, quick trivial "app" idea that I'm wondering is possible with the current API. It'd be cool for users to be able to give OAuth permission to an app, then be told which users they've interacted with the most or something like that
    can a user's messages be accessed via API? I could do regex to search for @-mentions... or is there metadata attached to a message that says who was mentioned?
    some sort of "friend recommender" is what I have in mind
    Steve Phillips
    @elimisteve
    so also being able to look at who is in which groups and tell people who they have the most groups in common with, and therefore probably share the most interests
    James Kiesel
    @gdpelican

    @elimisteve, hmm.. a cool idea, for sure.

    Loomio doesn't currently have private messaging, so you'd be sticking to at-mentions / people you've replied to, I imagine; there are events in the system for these things, and they'd probably be exposed through the notifications endpoint, so potentially possible?

    (Sorry for the delayed response!)
    Steve Phillips
    @elimisteve
    @gdpelican kk thanks

    @gdpelican
    Hi!
    fauno
    @fauno
    hey
    never used gitter before :P
    great, it has an irc gateway :)
    James Kiesel
    @gdpelican
    Ya, I've had a decent time with it for some other projects. It's a nice way to keep in touch with users without all the pomp and circumstance of a PR or issue
    fauno
    @fauno
    ok, i'll be around
