    im using "angular": "^1.5.0" and "angular-smart-table": "^2.1.8" -- and after i get the table, i cant sort, filter, page, etc -- none of the examples other than filling the table seem to be working

    hmm i think i solved my problem, had display and safe src backwards somehow
    ah right, yes in ng-repeat we're actually repeating off the displayed... maybe that should be more clear (or im just a dumbass)

    Hello, I'm working with your table right now for an application I'm working on and I have a quick question. I imagine it will be a really easy answer, but after digging in the issue tracker and such I didn't see quite what I was looking for.
    I'm wondering if there is any way to retrieve the set of filtered items, and not only a page of filtered items. If this is not possible, I was also hoping to find a count of pages for the filtered items. Does kind of thing exist?
    Does this* kind...
    Actually, I might be derping, there is another page of issues that might have what I'm looking for... one second...

    hmmm... O
    I'll research some more and get back here if I am completely at a loss.

    Hi! Is it possible to somehow "refresh" the table from another controller?
    I basically have two smart tables and I want to do some action on table A, and then refresh table B after that (something may change in what the backend will show for that table)

    @samupl yes it is possible

    @lorenzofox3 - how could I do that? The only way I found was to do a custom directive, but that requires some interaction with the table itself.
    I know, for example, I can do a click directive for that. But I don't know how would I make a directive that would allow me to update the table without clicking anything, from the controller level.

    Hi there.
    The table must know the total number of pages in order to operate. This, however, is a big problem (for big data sets), since 'jump' is a very expensive on MongoDB. So, when you load big data, the request times out.
    My question is how to customize smart-table so that it does not require the Total Count. I am fine to drop some of the functionality, like Jump to Last Page, or Jump to a Specific Page. If I can paginate incrementally page by page, it is acceptable.
    RENARD Laurent
    @lorenzofox3
    Then put any random number and change the pagination template to hide the page buttons

    @zutler

    @lorenzofox3 Thanks for your suggestion.
    I set the total to a very large number.
    Added logic to prevent clicking Next when response brings 0 items back.
    Removed Jump to Last Page. Removed Jump to a Specific Page.
    Now I can still paginate Left and Right and jump to First page.

    Thank again!

    Hi guys,
    How to make "smart tables" responsive like this http://prnt.sc/b3kt8r and this https://css-tricks.com/examples/ResponsiveTables/responsive.php for mobile ?

    @lorenzofox3 little confused here. when using st-pipe and server side paging, do i still need to use stSafeSrc when loading the data even though I do not modify the collection?
    I'm trying to isolate a strange IE bug and I just want to make sure I am using the grid correctly
    Marco Paul
    @mpaul31_twitter
    @lorenzofox3 i'm completly stumped here. the behavior i am seeing is my server side code is only being called when i have the developer tools window open in IE 11. When I close it, the grid responds but my server side code is randomly not being called.
    Derrick Granowski
    @granowski
    @mpaul31_twitter I witnessed something similar to that behavior but I'm pretty it has something to do with the code I have. The project I am working in is using browsersync and VS 2015 and I think IE/Edge tries to do intelligent debugging or something where it only debugs when it sees the dev tools open, but I couldn't tell you for sure.
    Marco Paul
    @mpaul31_twitter
    @granowski ok thanks i'll check that out. I also think it might have something to do with IE 11 caching...sigh

    I'm having an issue with st-search, upon leaving the table and making a new one, the search field is not reset. I've found several directives, such as the one at lorenzofox3/Smart-Table#164, but they don't actually clear the search field, they just reset the table. Any ideas?

    I'm trying to factorise smart-Table inside a reusable custom directive and I've encountered some issues when using search and sort feature. I couldn't find an example/snippet of smart-Table being wrap in a custom directive. If anyone has some kind of documentation/code snippet / or tutorial example It would be nice. thanks to you guys

    hello. is there a known way to put ng-models on an input that is an st-search? I want to change the filtering based on controller $scope. I can fill the inputs, but it does not perform the search as it does when typed

    Hi, I'm new here.. thanks in advance. I have an issue with 'strict select': the select input (filter) is not updated when data changes. More details in this example in http://plnkr.co/edit/vKy1mvwsFLWhfS9wztl1?p=preview

    Hello there
    anyone having issues with paginator always applying the active class to the first page link?
    Mandeep Singh Gulati
    @mandeepm91
    Hello everyone, I am new to front end development. I am building the front end for a CMS and using smart table in many of the views. Data is loaded to the smart table by fetching from backend via HTTP request. Backend API supports pagination. I am not sure how do I need to modify the smart table in front end to support the server side pagination. Each page from server contains 100 rows. In front end, I want the number of rows per page to be variable. For example, I can choose to display 10 rows per page in front end. Then the first http request should allow to me to view 10 pages in front end. When I click on 11th page, it should fetch the next set of 100 rows from server. Does smart table support this ? If not, what all do I need to tweak ?
    Also, although the sort functionality works well if data is fetched one time, but I want to modify it so that each time sort is clicked, it should send a request to the backend API so that I can load correct set of rows in front end. I tried using ng-click and calling a function when the table header field is clicked. Using the class of the header field, I can see whether the sort order is ascent or descent. But doing so involves a lot of hacks. If there is a cleaner way built into the smart table library, that would be great

    @mandeepm91
    ok, I am reading the docs for pipe/ajax plugin. Seems like that would do
    Mandeep Singh Gulati
    @mandeepm91

    yea looks like it. overriding the stPipe function should do the trick. It contains information in the following format

      "sort": {
        "predicate": "id",
        "reverse": false
      },
      "search": {},
      "pagination": {
        "start": 0,
        "totalItemCount": 0
      }
    }

    Examining this tableState object, I can send the required calls to server and update the data in rowCollection. This is awesome!

    Mandeep Singh Gulati
    @mandeepm91
    Is it possible to override the pipe function but access the older pipe function within the new pipe function ?
    Mandeep Singh Gulati
    @mandeepm91
    Is there any way to trigger stPipe function using some button ? The function gets triggered on search, sort action. I want to be able to trigger the same function using some buttons. These buttons serve as filter functions. I can write the function and bind it to ng-click of that button but not sure how to trigger the table's stPipe function and how to access the tableState
    Mandeep Singh Gulati
    @mandeepm91
    Ok, figured out. Had to use a directive. this is amazing! sadly nobody replies in this group

    When using st-safe-src, is it recommended to set "items" model (e.g., st-table="items") to []?
