Jan
@JanWerder
It would be ideal to use love.physics , but is there a good way to use a mesh with love.physics?
I mean otherwise we could just use an approximation with the x,y,w,h , but that would be really inaccurate
sol
@s-ol
Just use distance comparision and assume round shape?
Thats what i wouldve done
But covering love.physics could make sense also, since its core love
Jan
@JanWerder
Yup, that's what I meant. An approximation would fine normally, but not in a book trying to explain the Löve core :laughing:
sol
@s-ol
Well you can add a polygon mesh to l.p but even then i would just go with a circle in the physics layer
Im not sure, how we can transform a mesh into a polygon again, but maybe that's possible
sol
@s-ol
?
A mesh is a polygon
But like i said it is nonsensical to do it
Its way too small
Just use a circle
Jan
@JanWerder
Yes it is, but I meant the coordinates for the PolygonShape
Why is it nonsensical?
sol
@s-ol
Because the meshes will be almost round anyway and the collision wont be needed in that detail
It will just make for buggy collisions vetween them
Like getting stuck together on a few pixels
You are right, but when the complexity is capsuled by love.physics collision detection callbacks, it wouldn't be so hard
Oh, you mean that they'll bug when THEY collide with EACH OTHER.
Yes, that might become a problem
sol
@s-ol
so I would still say that a CircleShape covers it well enough and that people should be encouraged to simplify where it makes sense
K0IN
@K0IN
guys ?
is it posible that grapics.scale dont work in Fullscreen ?
sol
@s-ol
@K0IN are you asking for general LÖVE?
K0IN
@K0IN
ye
sol
@s-ol
this isn't really the place to ask questions about it, but no, love.graphics.scale definetely works in FS too
you should be asking on IRC (#love on OFTC) or on the forums probably
K0IN
@K0IN
oh sorry :> thanks
sol
@s-ol
this chat is for writers of the book to talk about how to work on it
@K0IN no worries
also I hope you're blown away by my response time
I just started gitter for the first time in a few months I believe :D
