516 Remote Desktop can't connect to the remote computer for one of these reasons:

1) Remote access to the server is not enabled
2) The remote computer is turned off
3) The remote computer is not available on the network

Make sure the remote computer is turned on and connected to the network, and that remote access is enabled.

@momoemo4 did you test if you get the same error when using standard rdp connection?

if that is the case the session is probably still active and you need to have someone login with a different account and force disconnect the user or something

Why when I now download and try to start it ask for a password. I have used this for years... I even had this installed and used on my desktop recently... then 1 day it required a password

because new version was offer you an encription and you agree, so its use master pasword to encript it and now on next run it asking it to give you access

you may restore from backup older (unchanged) connections file and then on run set to dont encript

I am thinking to change that a bit once get rid of other bug fixes

Hi i'm trying to use the sql feature, (i know its beta but it's for test purpose)
I created my database on MMSQL
When i try ty update my db it's return this message :

Also, [https://github.com/mRemoteNG/mRemoteNG/wiki/Development-Environment] says to use Visual Studio 2019 which seems to still be true. It looks like you cannot download that anymore from Microsoft. I can get Visual Studio 2022 Community Edition.

Thanks @nmat - well that will certainly work. A PR can work on a branch or on another fork, so it would be good if the documentation could be clarified. I can see that the pending PRs are definitely from forks. (I should have checked that before)

@merarischroeder hello and welcome, currently develop branch is most updated, my plan to fix issue with connection file and sql then do a release. other versions i think we abandon without a changes but not sure about that yet.

if you wish to help then clone develop branch and do your changes then send PR and will be happy to merge.

VS 2019 still possible to download (https://www.techspot.com/downloads/7241-visual-studio-2019.html) however I check already and v 2022 works well, just we dont want to force everybody to update to vs 22 until its not exit from preview stage

oh just spotted they finally release it few days ago :) so if you will use vs 2022 should be ok then, will update docs a bit later

Thanks. When I put in the configuration file support, I added it everywhere, but I realise that you have versioned configurations (XML, CSV, etc..). I probably added them into old versions. So hopefully it's quite easy for you to remove where they should be removed.

I recommend that for your next version, you should support "excess" fields. mRemoteNG can save them, but expect that another system will ignore them if they don't support them (they'll read the headers in CSV for example, and only cherry pick what they need). And vice versa, another system may have additional columns/fields, but mRemoteNG will ignore them. Perhaps if this was already the intention, the tests should be cherry-picking and therefore not fail.

hi, if you check in vs - right click it should be in menu - run test, you should see about 199 failing for now and some of them related that cant load root element in settings, not sure that it couse that and its not me who add testing modules so need a bit of time to figure's what's need to be done to fix that :)

some test are still failing but they are not critical and its all about read values after last changes, will be fix such in common days

Hello!

I've just use mRemoteNG, and love tree like's connection manager.
However there is one annoying thing that I think it shoulb be fix: it is behavior of Alt+TAB to switch between apps on Windows 10.
Here is the steps:

SSH to remote server via mRemoteNG
Open browser to copy some command lines from internet to Notepad
Copy command 1 from Notepad
Alt+TAB to switch to mRemoteNG then past command
Alt+TAB to switch to Notepad then copy command
Alt+TAB to switch to mRemoteNG
At step 6, I would like to Alt+TAB only once to switch to mRemoteNG, but I need to Alt+Tab twice.
That is very annoying. If at step 2 above I open multiple app, then at step 6 I need to Alt+Tab multiple times

Could this annoying behavior can be fixed?

No, the problem of #1535 is screen is not got focus.
My problem is I need to Alt+TAB MULTIPLE times to be able to selct mRemoteNG.
On Windows, user can use Alt+TAB to switch to previous app quickly.

Put it this way: Ctrl+Tab is wrong in Google Chrome. It's right in Firefox.

if you can set a shortcut with such a normal way then its should be posible to reproduce in mRemoteNG or you can provide access to cisco switch so dev team can have a look how to implement that for you
